THE TIGER: DACUM

DRAMATIC SITUATION
The speaker is expressing his attitude toward the tiger. Explaining its power, beauty and intelligence. With these thoughts about the tiger the speaker questions why God made this creature and other creatures the way that he did. The speaker is amazed by the experience that the tiger has proven through its actions in the world. the tiger has to be experienced to make it through the condition of predator against prey. The tiger also symbolizes the untamed forces of nature. Although the tiger is a predator and perceived as bad the speaker explains it beauty and strength.

THEME
The theme in William Blakes The Tiger has a lot to do with the grace of God and Gods creations, how God creates different creatures for different reasons. The tiger is explained as experienced, with strength and intelligence. God created animals of strength like the tiger who prey on other smaller animals but have to to this for their own survival. The reason for all the creation of the creatures in the world may be unknown but they all have a role in our world.

TONE
This poem praises the tiger and its abilities and beauty even though it is a predator. The tiger sounds like a much less ferocious animal than it is perceived to be. This poem touches on the Gods creation and gives us a clear picture of the tiger. William Blake uses many strong words to give us this clear view.
