Introduction
Lismore High School offers a wide range of course to senior students in Year 11 and 12.
Students at LHS are presented for the BOS's Higher School Certificate. This program is made up of a Preliminary Program and an HSC Program.
We offer 6 lines of study. Each line contains a number of subject each made up of 120 indicative hours of study.
The lines of study and the subjects that they contain differ each year. Students are canvassed as to what subjects they would like to study and an effort is made to organise the lines to satisfy the greatest number of students.

As well as the above subjects offered in school that count towards the student's University Admission Index (UAI) LHS offers a number of CEC courses ranging from Photography,Work Studies, Sport and Recreation and Furnishings that are quite popular.
LHS offers three Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses in school but offers more via TAFE delivered VET (TVET). Some of these can count towards a students UAI eg Accounting while others are made up of National Modules and can count towards an AQF Certificate and/ or accreditation in a post school Tafe course. Some VET courses can count towards the UAI if an optional examination is taken in it eg Hospitality, Business Services and Information technology. Lismore High School offers Work Studies to its senior students more interested in joining the workforce than tertiary study.
Lismore High School has achieved the status of a Registered Training Organisation and is thus able to deliver Nationally Accredited courses to AQF level 2 in a number of VET courses eg Office, Hospitality and Information Technology.
A number of students enrol in course via Distance Education if the course cannot be run at LHS. Languages ( Indonesian, French, and Japanese) are popular .
LHS is exploring the opportunity to share students and staff with other schools to further increase the course offerings available to local students. We have a number of students who study VET courses at Kadina High School and Casino High School
We have a small but significant group undertaking IN School Trianeeships in such areas as Retail, Office Administration and Hospitality. Their VET study is supplemented by about 1000 hours of paid work over 2 years with an employer to qualify for a Traineeship. They will get this in addition to their HSC and VET Credentials
