Blazemounts of Whazzit
Blazemount Picture
General Info: Blazemounts are quite a unique brand of creature. They are very similar to horses in more than one way, but they're much shinier, and thus more desired. They're slightly larger than the largest normal horse, and much more powerful, but the real difference between the two is that their manes and tails consist entirely of a bright, colorful, heatless and smokeless fire. Their hooves tend to be like black diamond-- glinting black and wholly unbreakable. They're not the most intelligent creatures, and cannot mindspeak at all, but they'll bond to an owner with more of an 'okay, that one will feed me' kind of thought. Oftentimes they are simply auctioned off by owners. Their temperments range just as much as regular horses, and they need to be heavily trained before riding them. Once that is done, though, their speed over land is unmatched by any except unicorns. As well, unicorns are the only creatures that they will listen to completely without protest. They tend to have twin or triplet foals, and it doesn't hinder their health as they are exceptionally large creatures. Blazemounts are almost unexceptionally mischievious, save Glades.
Mating Info: Blazemount mate in a very long, very competitive race over plains. The female will lead them and sometimes heads into cliffs or rocky areas, and twist about in their to confuse her chasers more. By the time she tires (which is a very long time) many chasers may have dropped out or be chased out by other stallions, and the female will usually choose the one to mate with.
Bonding Info: Blazies are sometimes auctioned off by their mother's owner, though more often they are let to choose. The hopefuls will enter a paddock with the foals inside and either wait or try to tempt them with sugar or veggies. The foals will usually choose for themselves and refuse to be bullied into bonding. Their teeth are quite sharp, and did I mention unbreakable hooves?
Frost
Frosts are the only queens of blazemounts, and are the largest of the species. Their hide is white, whether it be creamy or off-white or pristine blazing snow. Their firey manes and tails are of different shades of blue, all twisting and writing in their flamelike way. They will Chase rather frequently though not as much as Winds or Aethers, and they'll have two to three, or on occasion four, foals.

Flame
Flames are the largest of the lord blazemounts, and are a bit smaller than Frosts. Their hide is black, though it can range to an almost gray shade, and their flaming manes and tails are the color of a normal fire-- reds, oranges and yellows make it up. They're very territorial and are apt to attack those who may challenge their studliness over a certain Frost, Wind or Aether.

Tide
Tides are the smallest lord blazemounts, and are around the same size as Winds, just a slight knock down from Flames. Their hides are blue, and range along any shade of that color, though tending to be a navy or cerulean shade. Their manes and tails are blistering white flame, constantly in motion as are all the blazemount's longer hairs.

Wind
Winds are the largest non-queen females, and are about the same size as Tides; only slightly smaller than Flames. Their hides are Silver, but can range along the grayscale quite versatilely, with a shining sheen to it. Their flaming manes and tails are an eerie black flame, unnatural and a bit unnerving to watch, but very interesting indeed. They mate a little more than Frosts, but never foal.

Aether
Aethers tie for the spot of the smallest blazemounts, and are non-queen females. Their hides are a gray-purple shade with a bit of a sheen to it, and their flames tend to be a mixture of similar dark shades; blacks, greens, blues and violets all wind their way in there. They mate very frequently, more than Frosts or Winds, but never foal.

Glade
Glades, along with Aethers, take the spot as the smallest of the blazemounts. Non-lord males, their hides are any shade of green, usually a rather vibrant shade. Their mane and tail flames are a mixture of blues, whites and yellows, and tend to interchange occasionally. They're more serene and less provokable than other males, and are trained more easily for riding.
