Dwayne looked up and smiled. �Hi, Steph.�
�Hi, Mommy!�
�Hi, baby!�
Dwayne watched as Bryce greeted his mother enthusiastically, and as Stephanie scooped their son easily into her arms. He had almost forgotten what a natural mother she had surprisingly turned into.
She turned back to him. �Thanks for picking him up.�
He shrugged lightly. �It was my turn, and it was no problem at all.�
�Yeah, we had McDonald�s for a snack,� Bryce added enthusiastically. �I finally got the last Snoopy and finished my set.�
Stephanie hugged Bryce once again. �That�s great, shorty.� She finally set him back down on the ground. �Why don�t you go put it with the others?�
Dwayne watched his son run off further into the house before turning back to Stephanie. �I hope I didn�t ruin his dinner too much.�
She shook her head ruefully. �The day Bryce skips dinner is the day pigs begin to fly.�
He laughed, knowing how true her words were. He looked at his watch, and was surprised at how late it had gotten. But he didn�t want to leave. �Well, I guess it�s time for me to get going��
�Um, why don�t you stay and have dinner with us?� Stephanie asked, suddenly turning shy. �I made plenty.�
Dwayne looked at her for a moment. The hopeful look on her face made his heart race. He smiled. �I�d love to.�
