Title: Young Shooters
Author: Kay
Rating: NC17

fiction.
Distribution: Kriket, if she wants it.
Type: AU-western
Summary: I really suck at this, so how about this. What do you get when you mix the wild, wild west, fast
guns, whiskey, leather, and some good looking men? Simple. Young Shooters. Yeah, I know. It's lame. Picture
the stars of the WWF living in the west around 1870, with the same attitude that they have right now.
*grins* What can I say? I had a craving for a western.

Location: Outer limits of the newly settled town of Prosperity

Adam Copeland smiled as he watched his father kiss his new bride, which was his new mother. Adam missed
his mom, but knew that both he and his dad must go on. His mom would've wanted them to be happy.

Besides, he wasn't just gaining a new mom, but also a new brother, Christian. He had always wanted a
younger brother. He looked down at his smaller brother affectionately.

The younger boy smiled back.

Adam giggled as he ruffled Christian's long blonde hair, it was just like his. Christian had just lost his two front
teeth to the tooth fairy and he looked quite silly without them.

"Adam, will my teeth grow back?" Christian asked innocently, as he tried to push his tongue through the gap.

"Sure. You'll get new ones in a couple of weeks," Adam said reassuringly.

Christian sighed happily, he didn't want to go through life toothless. Although Adam was only a few months
older than him, he seemed to know everything. Christian toyed with the wooden cross that hung around his
neck on a long string as he watched his mother giggle as Mr. Copeland whispered something into her ear.

"Where did you get the cross?" Adam asked.

"My dad gave it to me," Christian said as a slight pout appeared on his angelic face. "He said he'd never leave
me and that he'd always protect me," Christian said sniffling.

Adam watched as tears formed in his younger brother's sparkling blue eyes. He pulled Christian to him and
hugged him tight. "It's alright Christian, I lost my mom two years ago. You're my brother now, and I'll take
care of you," Adam whispered proudly as he lead his brother into his new home.

That night both brothers were sound asleep in their own room when they heard their mother scream. She
sounded terrified.

Both boys ran into her room and were shocked to find it full of strange men.

"Don't hurt the children," Mrs. Copeland screamed as she tried to run to them, but was shoved backwards by
the leader. Mr. Copeland caught her before she hit her head on the wall.

Adam gulped as the man, who had just shoved his mother, turned and looked at them. Adam looked into the
bald headed man's souless blue eyes and trembled. He would never forget those eyes. The man looked like he
could devour them.

"Look what we have here," the man said as he focused his attention on the two beautiful boys standing before
him.

"NO!" Mrs. Copeland screamed.

"Shut up wench!" The leader screamed. "You should have paid what you owed the Alliance, now I'll take your
sons as payment."

Adam glanced over at his father, who mouthed ... r u n.

"Run Christian!" Adam screamed as he dragged him along behind him.

"Get them!" The leader yelled.

Adam and Christian ran out of the house and into the darkness. Adam smiled as he headed for the perfect
hiding place. His dad hated it when he hid there. Christian tripped and landed hard just as they reached the
beginning of the tall prairie grass.

Christian screamed as he clutched at his ankle. "Adam it hurts so bad!"

Adam was desperate as he tried to lift his little brother. No good. He was too heavy. He jumped as he heard
gunshots inside of his home and then everything was silent. He whimpered as he thought about his dad, who
he knew was probably lying dead inside of it. He looked down at Christian, but realized that Christian hadn't
heard the gunshot and really didn't know what was going on. What would he do when he found out about his
mom?

"Come on Christian!" Adam growled.

"There they are!" A man cried out as he pointed to them.

Adam was torn. Did he run and leave his brother? Or stay and be captured and probably killed along with
him?

"Christian get up!" Adam screamed.

Christian cried as he tried to stand, but fell back down as the pain radiating from his ankle was too powerful
for his small, frail body.

"I'll come back for you. I promise! I love you little brother," Adam whispered as he disappeared into the
safety of the tall grass.

He cried as he crawled into the grass. He could hear Christian's screams for help as the man scooped him into
his strong arms and started to carry him back.

"Adam!"

Adam covered his ears. He couldn't bare to listen to Christian's pitiful cries for help. What could he do? He
was just a mere child, also. "I'm sorry," Adam whispered as he continued to crawl away, tears streaming
down his face.

"The other one got away," one the men yelled.

"Set fire to the grass," the leader yelled, "no one gets away from me."

Adam's eyes widened as he quickly started crawling toward the edge of the grass that surrounded their
house.

From a safe distance, he could see that the men had set fire to his home and to the grass behind it, where
they thought he was. There was no sign of his parents. Deep inside of his heart, he knew they were already
dead.

He watched as the man carrying Christian handed him up the leader, who sat on his huge black stallion as he
bellowed out orders.

Adam watched as the man cradled Christian in front of him. He didn't like the look in the man's eyes as he
looked down at his injured, helpless, younger brother.

"Saddle up!" The leader yelled as he clutched Christian tightly to him. eliciting a whimper from the frightened
child.

The men did as ordered and followed him away from the burning house and field.

Adam started to cry as he watched them disappear into the darkness. His whole life had just went up in
flames. He had never been so utterly alone.

He wiped the tears away from his face. "I'll find you little brother. I promise," Adam vowed.
