Thanks for all your support! ____________________________________________________________ ~HUNTER'S POV~ I glance back in the rearview mirror of my patrol car and see the terrified look on Kurt's face, but as soon as his eyes lock with those of Marcus', he changes. His eyes become dark and filled with rage. "Let me go Hunter!" He growls as he starts to thrash in the backseat. I shake my head. "You're safer right where you are," I whisper as I slide from my car, barely able to dodge a knife as it whizzed by my head. After taking a deep breath, I raise my revolver up into the air and fire several sshots, finally managing to get the attention of the people. "Look at yourselves," I hiss angrily. "Look at our town!" I glance around at their confused faces, even Kurt has calmed down. Steve reluctantly drops Benoit, who he had been trying to strangle a few moments earlier. "He's the devil," I growl pointing at Marcus, who merely smirk as he holds Jason tightly to him. I turn to Steve. "Tell me Steve. What did he give you from his shop of horrors?" Steve lowered his eyes. "A skull. A talking skull." Jericho gasps as he remembers Marcus picking up the skull and talking to it, praising it for a job well done. "It told me to.....make Jericho mine," Steve continued as he pulled the skull from his mail pouch. "Lies...tricks," he hissed as he threw it at Marcus. I watch as the other townspeople begin to throw objects at Marcus, varying from books to musicial instruments. I pulled Kurt's comic book out and glanced at Kurt, who nodded in agreement as I tossed it onto the pile. "We don't want your gifts, Marcus," I growl. "There are no more secrets in our town." ~MARCUS' POV~ I laugh at their insolence. Do they really think that they can defeat me? Lucifer? Satan? Big Evil? "Leave," Hunter growls, followed by the chants of the others. I pull Jason along with me as I ascend the stairs. Terry pulls Adam along with him. "Please Terry," Adam begs. I feel the demon inside of Terry being pushed away as the real Terry finally surfaces and manages to take control of his body. He yanks off the rhino amulet and tosses it in the pile as he pulls Adam away from me. So my demon wasn't strong enough to overpower the real Terry, but it doesn't matter. I've already claimed one to the fires of hell and I must say that Matthew makes a lovely addition, but Jason will make a even more beautiful one. I push Jason forward and order him to get on my bike. "NO!" Adam screamed as he was held back by Terry. Jason's struggles are weak. He has no chance of escaping me. I won't let him. "Let him go," Hunter growls as he steps forward. I growl as I raise my hand and he goes flying backwards against his patrol car. "You can't stop me human," I growl as I lift Jason onto my Harley. "But we can," two voices speak in unison. ~HUNTER'S POV~ I close my eyes and reopen them. My head throbs, but I realize that two men have joined the fight for Jason's freedom. However, they weren't just any men. Angels? I stare at the long white tunics that they are wearing and their soft feathery wings that slightly flutter from their backs. "He doesn't wish to go with you Marcus," the larger one whispers in a calm voice. I recognize them. Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels. They had died a few years ago in car accident out on the old highway. They were natives of Prosperity. ~MARCUS' POV~ "Well....look who's back for more," I sneer as I notice their slightly singed wings. They were the two angels who appeared in the form of white doves on my first day here. "Leave this town," the other finally speaks. "I'm leaving, but he's coming with me," I growl as I start to get on the bike behind him. I gasp as two blurs of white feathers suddenly surrounds me and pulls me away from Jason, tossing me onto the porch of Secret Desires. "Go back to where you belong," I hiss at them as I lash out at them, once again singeing their wings. ~HUNTER'S POV~ It's now or never. I grab my flare gun from the front seat and aim it at the propane tank beside of the store. Everyone sees where I'm aiming and immediately runs away to take cover. "No," I growl. "You go back where you belong," I whisper as I fire. The tank explodes, taking the house with it. I knock Jason down covering him with my body, shielding him from the falling debris. When I stand, the house is almost gone as are my two angels. They had given me a fighting chance, but it was up to me to show the devil that I was serious. Jason gasps as there is movement in the burning embers. I watch in shock as Marcus walks from the flames, untouched. Hell, his clothes aren't even singed. He shrugs his shoulders as he walks toward Jason, who quickly tears the amulet from around his neck and tosses it onto the ground at his feet. Marcus' eyes darken. "You will be mine." "Not today," I whisper as I move to stand in front of Jason. Marcus' chuckles as he pulls out his shades from his jacket and puts them on. He casually walks to his bike and gets astride of it. He starts it and stares at Jason and me for a few moments. "You haven't won. You've only delayed me," he growls. "I'll be here if you want seconds," I growl in challenge. He chuckles. "Oh, I'll be back for seconds," he growls in promise. "Unfortunately, I have souls to harvest in another town." I shiver at his words. He grins knowingly. He winks at Jason. "I'll be back for your soul angel. We are destined to meet again." Jason gasps, but Adam wraps his arms around him, glaring at Marcus. "You'll never hurt my brother again." I grin at Marcus. "You're not welcome here." He chuckles. "I'm not welcomed anywhere, but ask me if I care." He starts to pull away, and then pauses. "See ya." Everyone gasps as he disappears into the darkness, but the faint roar of his bike could be heard in the distance. Heaven help the next town. ~~~A WEEK LATER~~~ ~MARCUS' POV~ I grin as I look around the little town square of Hope. It's a smaller town than Prosperity, but the occupants aren't as strong willed. It should be easy pickings. I grin as the black bird lands on my shoulder. I grin as I see visions of the Sheriff and Kurt together. Adam and Terry are still together and still working in the garage. Steve, Benoit, and Jericho seemed to have worked out an arrangement. I just love threesomes. I search for Jason and frown as I see him and Molly together. Awww, how sweet. Maybe I'll let them conceive a child and then I can take both the father and son to my domain. The mother of course has to die. I didn't lie when I told Hunter that I would be back. I might be the devil, but I always keep my word. I'll let the fires die down so to speak and when they least expect it....... I'll be b-a-c-k. ~THE END~ |
