MUSIC

Lita sighed heavily and closed the locker door, hefting her heavy duffel bag onto her shoulder and heading out to the parking lot. Throwing her bag into the back seat of her rental car, she got in and started up the engine, slowly driving out into traffic.

Driving to the hotel, Lita thought back to what had happened that day - itd been one of the worst days shed ever had in her entire career. First off, Vince had wanted her to help Trish learn some new moves that morning, which was usually fine with her. It would have been no problem aside from the fact that Trish was dumber than a fucking wall. Lita had come out of the session with a bruise the size of a grapefruit on her thigh and a black eye because the stupid bimbo couldnt learn how to land a fucking bulldog.

To make matters worse, the office called her up and told her that theyd decided to have her drop her belt to Ivory the next night on RAW. Also not a big problem - except they wanted her to lose it in a bra & panty Pudding match, definitely not a respectable way to give up ones title

The final straw though, was when she found out from Dean Malenko that shed be starting a new story line with him in next few days. This was a BIG problem because it was a well-known fact around the locker room that the old prick was a raging pervert and shed been told that the angle was supposed to be romantic. Yuck.

This sucks Lita muttered to herself, reaching over to turn up the radio. Instantly, strains of an old rock song filled the little car, making her wince a little. She wasnt into classic rock that much. Still, she left it on and decided to give it a try, besides, she was almost at the hotel.

I want you to want me
I need you to need me
Id love you to love me
Im begging you to beg me

Id shine up my old brown shoes
Id put on a brand new shirt
Id come home early from work
If youd say that you love me

Didnt I, didnt I, didnt I see you cryin
Oh, didnt I, didnt I, didnt I see you cryin
Feeling all alone without a friend
You know you feel like dyin
Oh, didnt I, didnt I, didnt I see you cryin!

After a while the words started to get to her, and she found herself sinking into an even deeper state of depression than she was in before. If only Matt were with her right now instead of at some stupid autograph signinghed know how to cheer her up.

Feeling all alone without a friend
You know you feel like dyin

Lita sighed and pulled into the hotel parking lot, her mood as gray as her car. Trudging wearily up to the room she was sharing with Matt and Jeff, she fervently prayed inside her head that they were back from their signing - they had the key to the room.

Fuck She growled when the door wouldnt open, it was locked and she had no way in until they got back. Deciding that her day couldnt possibly get any worse, she stomped back downstairs and headed for the hotel lounge - she needed a few drinks to calm her down.

After ordering a Bloody Mary and settling herself into a back corner booth, Lita pulled out her cell phone and dialed up Matt. Swearing when she got no answer, she left a snippy message saying that she would be down in the bar drinking herself into oblivion when they got back and that they could join her if they thought she was worth it.

Hitting the end button, she let her head drop onto the table and closed her eyes, not even looking up when the waitress came by and dropped off her drink

Three hours and five drinks later, Lita was ready to start crying she was so upset. She felt like screaming at the top of her lungs just so that someone - anyone, would pay attention to her. She was so lonely she wanted to die.

Hey, she giggled to herself a little drunkenly, I should put that in a songoh wait, it already is in a song Shaking her head around a little, she began singing off-key, the volume of her voice earning her a few stares.

Didden Ididden Ididden I see you cryinfeelin all aloneyou know you feel like dyin Trailing off after a while, she yelled for another drink and then laid her head back down onto the table, still humming a little loudly to herself.

Ya know Sweets, I really dont think you should do Karaoke anymore. And besides, the stage is that way Looking up at the sound of the voice, Lita was met with the sight of two grinning Hardy brothers.

Fuck you RainbowIve heard you singing in the shower - it aint pretty either Jeff laughed and sat down beside her, throwing a friendly arm around her shoulders.

Bad day? Lita snorted and closed her eyes. You have nofuckingidea Jeff clucked in sympathy and then frowned a little when the waitress came by and dropped off her drink.

How many of those have you had Lita? Lita gave the exaggerated shrug that only a drunk person could give and threw her hands up in the air, narrowly missing Jeffs nose. I dont know, one or two Jeff raised an eyebrow at her. Okayfive.

Alrighty then, you my friend, have had enough. Oh, by the way, nice shiner- helping Trish again? Jeff said, sliding the drink away from her hands and taking a sip from it. Lita started to protest but stopped suddenly and looked around.

Hey, wheres Matt? As if on cue, the Karaoke equipment came alive and the stage lit up - revealing a grinning Matt Hardy with a microphone in his hand.

Oh no Lita mumbled, causing Jeff to grin at her. Whats wrong, feel sick? Lita shook her head and grimaced. No, but Ive heard him in the shower too Jeff started laughing and turned his attention onto his brother.

Ladies and gentlemen, Matt started, This song goes out to a very special person - my girlfriend. Baby, I know youre feeling pretty down right now and I hope this cheers you up so here goes Music started pouring from the speakers and Lita recognized it to be another rock song.

Greeeeat She muttered under her breath, remembering what the last song had done to her. She was shocked though, when the words turned out to be the exact opposite of what shed been expecting.

A very good friend of mine
Told me something the other day
Id like to pass it on to you
Because I believe what was said to be true
He said were here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time - the sun cant shine every day

And the sun is shinin in the rainy city
And the sun is shinin - ooh isnt it a pity
That every year has its share of tears
Every now and then its gotta rain

Were here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time - the sun cant shine every day

Lita found herself tearing up a little as she realized just what Matt was trying to say to her. He was telling her that everything was going to be okay - that things would get better. It didnt matter that he sounded like a howler monkey on crack

When the music finally faded out, Lita started clapping louder than anyone else in the lounge, her eyes were trained onto where her boyfriend was making his way over to them. Sliding into the booth beside her, Matt leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead.

Feelin better babe? Lita nodded and snuggled underneath his arm. Much better. Matt grinned suddenly. Well, now that youre feeling better theres only one thing left to take care of.

Lita looked at him curiously and frowned. Whats that? Matt batted his eyelashes innocently and then wrinkled his nose dramatically.

You stink. What the hell have you been drinking? Jeff choked on his drink and started howling with laughter

THE END.
