Laying the Smackdown (1/1)

For Rocky fans, and those who think the draft is stupid, and for everyone who enjoys looking into people's minds and trying to figure out what in the hell they're thinking. And for shana, Darkflame, Kay, and Grace, who read my work or inspire me to write, respectively.

Laying the Smackdown (1/1)

The Rock is going to Smackdown, going to work for Vince McMahon, going to leave them millions of fans on Raw, bereft. What was McMahon thinking? He knows that I have no desire to work with him, he knew that when he picked me. I intended to make his life a living hell. So why did he do it? Why did he take on all the aggravation that is the Rock? Just to make sure that Flair didn't pick me? They're like two boys with their favorite toys, refusing to share, to give even an inch, and they're making the rest of out lives miserable. Except maybe the old Alliance talent, because now people can see them on camera again, as opposed to when people like the Rock were on both shows. So they have too much talent, they don't know what to do with it all. They decide that to keep McMahon and Flair apart, and to showcase all that talent, they need to split the company. Hold a draft, get everyone on one side or another. Yeah, great idea. Who's writing this shit? We've had a pregancy  angle lately. A pregancy angle. WCW isn't dead, it lives on in the WWF, especially in the angles we've been set into lately. Let's face it, for six or seven months we did Alliance versus the WWF, and now we're back to the same damn thing, only it's Raw versus Smackdown and all the wrestlers work for the WWF.

Be that as it may, the Rock is still going to be laying the Smackdown, on Smackdown, exclusively. What was Vince thinking? He's chosen all the superstars, and that's good, but they're all people who hate him. Does he seriously think that they'll make it easy for him? No, I don't think he that naive. Did he truly pick all the big name talent so Flair couldn't take them? Is he that angry at Flair for taking the nWo and the Undsertaker? He has to see that he got the better end of the deal, that Flair got the proverbial short end of the stick. Maybe he just doesn't care. If he can't have it no one can have any. That was why he brough the nWo into the federation in the first place. Why would he be pissed if the poison continues to work on Flair? He hasn't ever really needed them. For all his assertations that he was goingt o destroy the WWF he has done nothing but try to seize power agaian and again. Does he think that we are some kind of toy he can fight Flair for? Does he think if he wins that ratings war Flair will simply back out, and he'll be "the man" again? The truth is, although Vince doesn't see it yet, that Flair isn't going to give up, he's going to fight back, and he's a hell of a lot tougher than Vince McMahon. Vince may act tough, but Flair is tough. Inside he's steel, not intimidated by anyone, unlike Vince McMahon. And he's smart too, because now he holds all the cards, so to speak, that Vince desperately wanted. All of Vince's buttkissers, the little toads he used to make himself feel good, are gone, drafted by Raw. Does he think that we should feel grateful for him picking us? Does he think that we'll turn into  William Regals and Booker Ts? Coming to Vince and stroking his ego to get the matches we want? I did that once, when I was part of the corparation, and I'm never, ever going to do it again.

I've made a lot of mistakes during my career her, I've teamed up with Vince, I've turned my back on the crowd, I've believed people who I knew, deep down, were lying to me. I'vce been a heel, I've been part of the Nation, I've done it all. I'm not going to do it again. I want to do soemthing new, work with soemone new, even. I'd have liked to work for Flair. It would have been new and exciting, and I wouldn't continually be punished for being a crowd favorite, and not sucking up to the boss. I'd like to know what it could be like if my boss wasn't always stomping me down. But I guess that was not to be, along with a lot of other things I'd like to happen, things I've dreamed about.

Life can be cruel, especiallt to me, it seems. Life has decided that I will continue to wrestle for Vince McMahon, and he will continue ti sign my paychecks, and make sure I don't get a chance at the Undisputed Championship. Of that i have no doubts. Be taht as it may, at least I don't go alone. Hoagan and Angle and Jericho, and even Edge are coming with me, even if I don't like osome of them at all. I, along with many other fan favorites are going to work for Vince. Is that his strategy? Choose the fan favorites to draw ratings? It very well could be, after all, Vince is a acrafty old asshole. Time will tell, it seems. I wish I knew. I wish I could be traded, I wish I could leave Vince far behind and start a new era, hell get a fresh look on life, and be treated normally, not forced into stupid matches. Not being hated by your boss, even thought the fans that made him his millions love me. The hard, cold facts remian that the Rock will continue to lay the Smackdown, the exclusive property of WWF Smackdown!, and Vince McMahon.
