| Kay Undercover Heat - Epilogue Fri Jun 28 17:26:49 2002 209.245.236.164 ~CHRISTIAN'S POV~ I can't believe that it's been four months since my near fatal brush with death occurred. During that time, I've received a special award for bravery and have been placed on full work status with the agency along with Trish as my partner. Edge doesn't seem to mind her as my partner. I guess he doesn't feel any competition from her, well except for who has the best hair. Edge has been cleared of all charges and the papers he sighed before that faithful day, null and voided. He was once again a flamboyant millionaire with just one difference, he had a very down to earth, FBI boyfriend. He still has nightmares about the discovery of Matt, Jeff, and Lita's bodies in their watery grave. The only good news that I could offer him was the fact that they had been dead before they were placed in their watery grave only a mile from the boat dock. I knew that I shouldn't have let him go with me to witness such a horrible crime, but I had to convince him that he had done the right thing in fighting Mark. Mark. He's still a mystery. His body was never found, due to the storm that followed the fight on the dock. His boat was found two miles away capsized. According to Edge, he was shot in the chest. There was no way that a man that badly injured could've survived, but logic does nothing to help the frail nerves of my lover. He jumps at every sound. He clings to me like I once clung to him. He thinks that I don't hear him crying late at night. Asking Mark why? We're still looking for Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, but with no luck so far. Sooner or later, they'll turn up. I hug Edge tighter to me as we witness Benoit's and Jericho's bonding ceremony. Jericho looks a little nervous as he glances from Benoit to Assistant Director Helmsley. Rumors in the bureau spread like a wild fire, and the latest one is that Benoit found the leak in the Callaway case and that it was Jericho, but why is he committing to him? Why would Helmsley approve? I smile as I watch Benoit and Jericho kiss. I must admit that they were made for each other. Assistant Director Helmsley smiles as he grips my shoulders, "So have you two set the date?" Edge blushes a beautiful shade of red. "Come to think of it, there's something I've been meaning to ask you," I whisper in Edge's ear, causing him to blush even more. "You did a good job rookie. Right baby?" Benoit says with a grin as he slaps me on the back and hugs Jericho close. Benoit walks away, but Jericho stays behind. "I'm sorry," he whispers. "I was the one who told...." I press a finger to his lips, silencing him. "I know," I whisper. "Let's let the past stay in the past. Do you love him?" "More than life itself," Jericho whispers and smiles faintly as he makes his way over to Benoit's side. I'm glad Helmsley had ignored the rumors and allowed them to be together. Mark had hurt so many people, I'm glad that Jericho wasn't another one of his victims. ~MARK'S POV~ I scowl as I watch the ceremony. If Jericho thinks that I've forgotten about him, he's dead wrong. I focus in as Christian pulls Edge aside. I read his lips as best as I can. He just asked Edge to commit to him. Watching Edge wrap his arms around the man sent rage surging throughout every fiber of my body. Can't he see? I'm his true love. I beat death to come back to him. I won't let Christian interfere with my future with Edge. Edge is mine. "Boss?" Kevin whispers as he carefully approaches me. "Is everything ready?" I ask him. "Just waiting for Edge," Scott says grinning. I know they are trying to please me, but after their failure to subdue Edge for me, they have secured their own fate. They had tried to hide from me, but I know them all too well. I will use them until I get back what I lost, then I will have no need for them. "Soon my love," I whisper as I bring the binoculars to my eyes once again, catching another glimpse of my lover just as he kissed another. ~THE END?~ Possible sequel. Should I? My muses are demanding one (especially one very large muse with a bad attitude *grins*) |
