Summary: Sean Waltman is in love with Shawn Michaels and schemes to get him to see him as more than a friend.
Note: For AJ's B-day� She wanted the Shawn/Sean so here it is
Sean Waltman grins as he watches his long time friend run in on Hunter's match. He runs over to the gorilla position to congratulate both men. Hunter sweeps Sean into a hug and then drops him just as suddenly, giving his lover a kiss and hug. Sean laughs and then sobers as he sees his friend walk through the curtain. "Hey Shawn you looked great out there."
"Thanks Kid." Shawn Michaels turns away from Sean and pulls his young lover into a passionate embrace.
Sean stares at Gregory Helms with undisguised jealousy. Hunter catches the stare and extracting himself from Shannon Moore, throws an arm around his best friend. "Helms is just a fling Kid. He can't get serious about someone who is just using him."
Sean looks up at Hunter suspiciously. "Helms is just using him?"
"Yeah to make Hardy jealous."
"Which Hardy?"
"Matt, I think."
Sean just grins a plan forming in his mind.
A Few Days Later
"Hey Matt can we talk for a minute?"
Matt smiles shyly at the older man. "Hey Sean. What's going on?"
"Not much. Can I convince you to go out to dinner with me?"
Matt looks shocked at the older man's request. "You want to go out with me? Like on a date?"
Sean frowns. "Well, actually as much as I like you I don't want to date you."
"Sean no matter what you've heard, I am not and easy lay. Truth is, I've never been with a man."
"No Matt. I didn't mean that. Your buddy Gregory?" Sean watches as Matt blushes a deep crimson. "Well, he's dating the man I want. Since you're obviously in love with Helms, I thought that maybe we could work together to break them up? That is if you want Gregory?"
Matt blushes even deeper. "Who says I want Gregory?"
Sean raises and eyebrow. "No one Matt. I was just guessing. I've seen you watching him and thought that you were into him. I was apparently wrong."
"No wait. You weren't wrong, it's just that� I don't know what to do. I think Gregory like me but I'm not sure and if he's happy with Shawn then I want him to be happy."
"But wouldn't you rather he be happy with you?"
Matt nods' knowing that what Sean is saying is true. "Matt, if you and I work together then we can probably break those two up. Now I know Gregory likes you and since you like him if you just showed some interest then I'm sure he'd break up with Shawn."
Matt chews on his lower lip as he stares at Sean. "Are you sure Gregory likes me?"
Sean nods; glad he picked the right thing to say to make Matt take notice. "Yeah. Why don't we go out and get a bite to eat? We can talk about this more over dinner?"
Matt nods and the two men split up to grab their stuff meeting in the parking lot.
At The Restaurant
Matt sits across from the older man and fidgets nervously. "I don't know why you want me to help you. I may be interested in Gregory but he is in no way interested in me. He's never even liked me that much."
Sean smiles gently at the younger man. 'Why didn't I ever realize how shy Hardy is before? He looks ready to bolt at any second.' Sean shakes his head. "Matt, trust me. Gregory is using Shawn to make you jealous. Now we can do this a couple of ways. You show Gregory that you are interested or you and I can try to make them jealous?"
Matt pales as he looks at the older man. "I can't� Either� Sean, I�" Matt looks away not sure of what to say.
Sean smiles softly. "Matt, you do want Gregory right?"
Matt nods not meeting Sean's eyes. Sean smiles. "Okay then skip the first idea. You and I will just act like we're together. We won't do anything you are uncomfortable with but I mean simple things like hand holding and stuff. Stuff that will get under Gregory's skin but not enough to make them think that we are totally serious about one another."
Matt nods his head as he looks back at Sean. "That could maybe work. But what if Gregory is happy with Shawn? That's all I really want for him is for him to be happy."
Sean looks at Matt seriously. "Then no matter what we do they won't be pulled apart. You really love him don't you?"
Matt blushes as he nods his head. "I've been in love with him for years."
"Did it totally break your heart when he and Shawn started dating?"
Matt shrugs. "Sort of. I'd known for a while that Gregory was in love with Michaels so it wasn't too much of a surprise to me."
Sean smiles. "You are a great friend Matt."
"How do you figure?"
"Because you easily could have sabotaged Gregory's chances with Shawn. You know Shawn and you easily could have convinced him to not hook up with Gregory. But you didn't. You took the high road and from what Shawn has told me you hooked them up together. You introduced them."
Matt nods and smiles softly. "Yeah well, I couldn't see standing in the way of what Gregory wanted."
"You're a better man than I am then. When Shawn asked me to introduce him to Gregory I told him no. I wouldn't do it."
Matt smiles softly. "That's because you love Shawn so much that it hurts to see him with other men. I notice you didn't try to stop them from getting together."
Sean nods his head. "That's true."
They both fall quiet as the waiter brings their food. They eat in silence and then quietly discuss plans for making Shawn and Gregory stop seeing each other.
Several Days Later
Shawn glares across the room at the young Hardy completely ignoring his lover. Gregory sighs and follows the older man's gaze. "Ya know Shawn? Maybe we should just stop the charade and tell them how we feel?"
"No way Gregory. Sean is going to come crawling on his hands and knees to me. I won't accept it any other way."
Gregory frowns. "Well, you know what. I'm sick of it. You aren't at all interested in me so I am going over there and telling Matt that I love him. You and Sean can do whatever the hell you want to do."
Gregory leaves Shawn's side and walks up to the love of his life. "Matt, can I talk to you for a minute?"
Matt nods and follows the man of his dreams out of the locker room. Sean sits back with a smile knowing that his plan is working. When Matt comes back, his face red and a huge smile plastered across it Sean approaches him and Gregory. "So does this mean what I think it does?"
Matt nods and reaches out hugging Sean. "Thank you Sean." Matt looks over at Shawn Michaels and then back at Sean. "Go for it. He wants you." Matt looks at Gregory and smiles. "Gregory told me so. They were just using each other to get to you and me."
Sean smiles and hugs Matt again. "Thanks Matt. Go have some fun with Gregory." Matt blushes again and all but skips off to be with his new boyfriend.
Sean looks over at the older man and smiles to himself. 'Now to let him sweat it out a few days.' Sean turns his back on his best friend and proceeds to strip down for his shower.
Five Days Later
Sean walks into the deserted dressing room and sighs to himself. "Things are not going according to plan." Sean says to the supposedly empty room.
Sean jumps as a voice comes out of the darkness. "What plans Kid?"
Sean turns around and shrugs at Shawn Michaels. "Just in general ya know."
Shawn walks closer. "Oh really? Because I thought that maybe you were talking about your plans to get together with me?"
Sean pales as the older man moves closer still. "What makes you think that I am interested in you?"
Shawn steps back thinking he is scaring the younger man. "Matt talked to me. Told me all about yours and his plans to get Gregory and me. I'm flattered Kid. But why didn't you just tell me that you wanted me?"
"I don't know Shawn. You've always been my best friend. I never thought that you'd be interested in furthering it."
Shawn reaches out and pulls the younger man to him, kissing him fervently. "Jesus Kid I have wanted you since we met. If you want to hook up on a permanent basis meet me in my room after the show." With that Shawn backs away and heads out the door.
Sean watches him go with a small smile on his face.
Later That Night
Sean knocks hesitantly on the door of Shawn's hotel room. He jumps back nervously when Shawn pulls open the door. "You're late darlin'."
Sean smiles nervously. "I'm sorry. I had to decide if I wanted to show."
Shawn grins and pulls the young man into his hotel room. "It's okay Kid. I was joking. Come here." Shawn pulls him close and kisses him softly. "Do you have any idea how badly I want you?"
Sean blushes and shakes his head. Shawn grabs him and pulls him closer. "Then let me show you. No more words."
Sean nods as the older man kisses him slowly and then slides warm hands down his supple body. Sean moans into the older man's mouth and slides his hands up and down Shawn's back. Shawn moans back and slips the young man's t-shirt off his lean body. They make their way over to the bed and Shawn slowly and torturously makes love to his newfound lover.
They lay together afterwards tangled up in each other and the sheets. Sean sleeps against the older man's broad chest as Shawn watches him silently. "I love you Sean and I will never let you go." He soon falls asleep content in the knowledge that he is finally with the man he loves.
