Kay - Era of Darkness part 8
~ADAM'S POV~

I smile as I slowly saunter towards the guard. I can tell that he's nervous and mesmerized by my every
movement. He wants me, I can see it in his eyes.

"What's your name?" I ask smiling as seductively as I could possibly manage.

"Shawn," he stutters.

"Shawn," I whisper. "Who's that?" I ask pointing behind him.

He turns and I hit him with the vase sitting close to me.

As he falls to the floor, I quickly find my discarded clothes and dress.

I try to shield my thoughts. Marcus isn't far away and can probably read them. I have to be careful if I'm to
escape.

~CHRISTIAN'S POV~

I shiver as the big man falls down beside of me on the bed. I feel sick as I feel his seed slowly trickling down
my thighs.

Is he done with me? I'm too scared to move, much less breathe.

I've never been with another man before and lets just say that Bradshaw didn't exactly take it easy on me.
My insides feel like they are on fire. He must have ripped me up pretty bad.

I can't control the tears as they flood my eyes. I want to die. I can't be the Chosen One!

~BRADSHAW'S POV~

I watch him squirm as he lays beside of me. He's got to be hurting. What does it matter? He's going to die in
an hour or so anyway.

Might as well have myself some more fun at his expense.

I reach for him and he whimpers in fear.

That's it boy. Pray for your God. He's not here, nor will he ever be.

~ADAM'S POV~

As I'm trying to make my escape from this maze, I hear whimpering and crying. I almost walk away, but the
person sounds so pitiful.

Against my better judgment, I open the door and peek inside. I stifle my gasp as I watch a much larger man
mounting a small blonde-haired man.

Neither man has noticed me. The larger one is too involved with hurting the smaller one, and the smaller one
is lost in that pain.

I pick up a huge iron sculpture and bring it down over big man's head.

The small blonde yelps as the man slumps on top of him.

I push the man off the top of him and the young man smiles at me with tears in his eyes. "Thank you."

I smile as I hold out my hand. "Let's get out of here," I whisper.

He smiles and reaches for my hand.

~MARCUS' POV~

The ceremony will shatter all of God's hope for mankind. Why can't the fool see that they are doomed. They
have been since they were created. Mankind is so weak and pathetic.

Tonight the Chosen One will die paving the way for Kane and me to rule the entire world.

Nothing can stop us now. Nothing.

I look at the dagger that I plan on using on the Chosen One. The blade is razor sharp. I wonder how it will fill
to slice that beautiful soft skin of his.

I can't wait to see the look of terror in the young man's eyes as I slice and dice him.

What the hell?

I sense something is not as it should be. Adam? I no longer feel his presence.

Fuck! Not tonight.

~KANE'S POV~

I feel Marcus' anger and immediately follow him, dragging Chris along with me. I don't want him to get any
ideas about escaping.

Adam is scared, but determined. We both feel his and the Chosen One's presence.

Marcus should have killed him when he had the chance.

We're close. I can smell them.

Adam yelps in surprise as he turns to find us both staring at him.

"Come here Adam," Marcus growls.

Adam shakes his head. "Let me go," he begs.

A loud rumbling is heard and the floor in the room starts to split open. Large flames of fire shoot outwards
from the open area.

~LUCIFER'S POV~

I chuckle as my appearance in the room startles everyone, including my two minions, who immediately fall to
their hands and knees and worship me.

"Marcus," I whisper.

"Yes, my lord," he says bowing his head.

"Kill the Chosen One," I whisper.

He stalks over to Christian, but Adam steps in front of him. "No, please," he whispers to Marcus.

"Kill him, too," I growl.

Marcus' eyes glow as he reaches out for Adam, snapping his neck before he could even protest.

"NO!" Christian screamed as he looked down at Adam's crumpled lifeless body. "How could you?" He
screams at Marcus.

"He's only following orders," I whisper, patting Marcus on the back.

"If only I had one wish," I whisper.

I chuckle. One wish? What could he possibly do with one wish.

"You got it," I whisper, waiting to see what the little fool would wish for.

~CHRISTIAN'S POV~

He just gave me one wish? What do I wish for? What is more powerful than Lucifer?

I look at Adam's lifeless body and a sudden realization hits me.

"I wish....I wish that demons could love," I whisper, praying to God that it would work.

Lucifer's smile faded as he looked me with a shocked look on his face.

Marcus growled as he looked down at Adam. "NO!" He screamed as he scooped the dead man into his arms,
shaking him. "Make him live," Marcus pleads.

I back away not sure what to do.

"Kill him," Lucifer demands of Marcus as he points at me.

Marcus glares at him as he lays Adam down. He stalks toward him and before he can react, Marcus throws
him into the flames. He reaches into his boot and pulls out a dagger, kneeling beside of Adam, he plunges it
deep within his heart.

"Forgive me," he whispers as he falls beside of Adam.

Kane has watched the whole event in silence. He looks down at Chris, who is visibly trembling. He pulls Chris
close, kissing the top of his head.

"I love you little one," Kane whispers as he reaches down and removes the dagger from his brother's chest
and plunges it into his own.

Chris screams as blood splatters him in the face.

The earth starts to shake and the hole in the floor starts to seal. I reach out for Chris and run. I have a feeling
the worse is not over yet.

All around us debris is falling. The walls are caving in. I hear cries of the damned as the earth starts to
swallow the underground temple.

We run upwards. It's our only hope. Run towards the heaven.

I see a faint glimpse of light ahead.

We both scream in joy as we run out into the fading evening light. Free at last.

~CHRIS' POV~

As I stand here with Christian staring at the smoldering black hole in the earth, I can't believe that an
underground temple had once been there.

Is this nightmare finally over with?

Kane. I can't get him out of my thoughts. I.....miss him.

No one would believe us if we told them what happened. They would lock us up and throw away the key.

Love. The only true emotion that is strong enough to fight against evil.
