GRANADA, SPAIN - The Alhambra  (1248-1354),  is universally esteemed as one of the greatest masterpieces of Muslim architecture.  Designed as a palace and fortress for the Moorish monarchs of Granada, it is surrounded by a heavily fortified wall more than a mile in perimeter.  The location of the Alhambra in the Sierra Nevada  provides a magnificent setting for this jewel of Moorish Spain.
CORDOBA, SPAIN  - Located on the River Guadalquivir.  The city's most noteworthy building is its great cathedral,  style Islamic,  as a Moorish mosque, 784-786, 9th-10th century, 300 ft. or 90 m.

ALGECIRAS / TANGIERS  - From Algeciras/Spain, ferries run to Tangier/Morocco (1 hour),  and  offer  spectacular views of the Strait of Gibraltar.
GIBRALTAR (THE ROCK) / EUROPE
- It's a large promontory of jurassic limestone.  The 5km-long/3 mile rock contains 143 caves,  and tunnels.

TANGIERS, in MOROCCO

On May 5 to 26, 1993, I visited  Costa Del sol, Andalucia in Spain.     This trip was three weeks long and it covered Malaga, Torremolinos, Granada, Cordoba, Nerja, Ronda, and Mijas.  On May 11, 1993, I went from Spain to Tangiers, Morocco.
