Update by NCP on the new parking regulations
The old Traffic wardens have been replaced by Traffic Attendants and there are 111 in Northern Ireland. This means that parking enforcement has been decriminalised and is no longer the responsability of the PSNI. NCP has been given the contract to take charge of parking enforcement, and there are several key changes in the way this will take place.
The fee for a parking violation is now £60, which is reduced to £30 if paid within 15 days. Non payment after notification will result in the £60 going up to £90
The TA's have the power to ask blue badge holders to show thier badge if they feel it is being used inappropriately
Refusal to show your badge will result in a ticket
Blue badge holders will not be clampled
The new rules will also be enforced in NCP/Roads Service car parks
Clamping for non blue badge holders occurs after 3 tickets have been issued to the same car anywhere in NI (TA's have hand held computers which has national information on it)
Enforcement will be all day, including saturday, with reduced coverage in the evening and weekends. Plans are for it to be increased to overnight
