Penectomy
Penis Removal

By Dr Mary Allcox, Professor Lorena Bobbitt
and Dr Lisa Vaughan

There are many instances where we feel a penectomy is desirable, if the penis is diseased, has cancer or is very small and it's owner isn't happy with it. In either case with the help of heavy sedation most men can be persuaded into agreeing to the operation.

The removal is quick and very straight forward great care is then taken to create an attractive new urethra as shown left.

The testicles are left on so the man does not develop breasts and also so he can still feel he is a man. Men through there lives seem to get quite attached to this appendage and often need therapy before coming to terms with the positive side to this operation.

At the institute we keep most of the penises we remove. They are specially  preserved in vinegar (right). From time to time we take them out and carefully dissect them (as shown left). But most of the specimens are kept for a giggle at the office Christmas party.
