Summary: This is my changed depiction of the episodes "New Evidence" and "Hammerhead Sharks." There is not much Legal stuff in here, the main theme is Bobby and Lindsay, which I guess goes without saying. Thanx to Ally, who convinced to type it before I hated it. And to Livvy..who we all miss so much.
Disclaimer: DEK owns all characters...I mean no harm.

Offices of DYD&F Friday, 3pm
All six lawyers and Lucy were seated at the conference table. The meeting was drawing to a close.
"Ok." Bobby said, standing up. "One more thing. A family over in Los Angeles has hired us to represent their son, who has been charged with second degree murder. I won't go into the details, it will be relatively simple to win...though there are a few constitution issues, but other than that, it's fairly easy.
"Bobby, if it's so easy, why are they paying Boston lawyers to take a case in L.A, it seems anyone can win?" Ellenor cut in.
"Well, apparently they've heard of us..plus they're paying a lot of money, I couldn't turn them down." Bobby answered
"Who's going Bobby?" Eugene asked
"Well, me for one." Bobby replied. "We don't have much on here at the moment, so I figure I'll take two of you, plus Lucy, who I'll need to run background checks while we're down there. Ummm, they've specifically asked for you Lindsay, and Ellenor, I think I'll need you. Any objections?" He asked. Everyone shook their heads silently. Truth was, those who were chosen were thrilled at the chance to impress the jury in a different state. And Lucy...well Lucy wanted to go to the beach.
"Great! What time do we leave?" Lucy enquired, clearly excited.
"Monday, 9am, I hope to be back by Friday. The trial starts pretty much straight away, so if Lindsay and Ellenor could meet me back here at 6pm tonight, we will start going over the details.
"Sure," they both agreed, and with that, the meeting was over, and they all left the conference room.

Bobby entered his office and sat down on the couch. 'She's coming' he thinks, as a slow smile spreads to his face. He leant back against the armrest, clasping his hands behind his head, as he reminisced about their previous encounters. The tension between them was unmistakable. Nothing had really happened yet, physically anyway. They had been so close once, but Jimmy had interrupted. Bobby realised he had been pretty nasty to Jimmy since then, and the poor guy didn't even know why.
Lindsay sat behind her desk, pretending to work. She discreetly kept her eyes on Bobby's office. She could only see half of him, but the elated smile on his face as he stared at the ceiling, made it the better half. Since he had asked her to go to L.A, she'd been trying in vain to slow her rapidly beating heart.
She couldn't deny the intense feelings she felt when he looked at her, or the tingles of electricity that flowed through her whenever they touched. She knew she was falling in love with him, she knew because she'd been shooting filthy looks at Jimmy ever since he had walked in on them not long ago. They hadn't been doing anything, but she had a feeling they were about to.
Later, 6:15pm, DYD&F conference room, Bobby is briefing Lindsay and Ellenor on the case.
"Ok, Brian Hoffman's testimony will be that the victim was going to kill him at the time he swung the golf club. The force of which was the cause of death. The only problem with self- defence is, the victim had no weapon."
"There's always *some* problem." Lindsay joked, smiling at Bobby as she spoke. He and Ellenor smiled back, then they all continued working. As the clock crept towards 7:30pm, Ellenor stood up. "Ok, guys, I gotta go, I am having dinner with my sister."
"Alright Ellenor. I will pick you up at 8am on Monday. There is no sense in us taking three cars." Said Bobby
"Ok, see you then" replied Ellenor
"Bye!" Called Lindsay, as Ellenor left the office. Turning her attention to Bobby, she innocently reported "Looks like it's just you and me Bobby."
"Yeah," He whispered, "You, me, and no Jimmy." Lindsay blushed as she realised what he was implying.
"Bobby, we are probably lucky he walked in when he did. I don't know what would have happened if he didn't"
"Why, do you have trouble resisting me Miss Dole?" he asked coyly.
"At times Mr Donnell" She replied, equally playfully.
"Well, I fail to see how you can consider Jimmy's interruption 'lucky,' I myself was quite interested to find out what
would happen." He leaned in closer, ensuring she was fully aware of his intentions.
"Y-you were?" She asked trepidaciously, already anticipating his answer.
"No." He said softly. "I *am*"
Bobby didn't give Lindsay any time to respond, which was just as well, because she was speechless. Instead, he moved in, closing the final distance between them, and he kissed her. Lindsay took no time at all in kissing him back. The thoughts that had previously been rushing through her mind were forgotten, as she focused only on the fast rhythm of her heart and her overwhelming desire for Bobby.
Bobby couldn't believe it. He'd been dreaming about this moment for a long time, from the moment he met Lindsay, and now that it was finally happening, now that it was real, it felt just like a dream. They stood up, never breaking apart, and Lindsay threw her arms around Bobby's neck while he encircled her with his arms, pulling her closer to him, deepening the kiss. As she backed up against the conference table, he eased her down, until her back was touching the polished wood. She pulled him to her, and he allowed his lips to travel to her neck, caressing her soft fragrant skin, while she moved her hands playfully up and down his muscly chest.
Then, as quickly as it had started, it was over. Bobby pulled away, stepping backwards with his arms raised in the air. "I- I can't do this to you Lindsay...not here. Y-you mean way too much to me for this to seem...cheap." He spat out the last word, as though he hated himself for ever thinking she could be that. Tears formed in both their eyes.
"Bobby." Lindsay whispered, but it was too late, he was gone. "I love you." She admitted these words to nobody, knowing that it was her hearts way of revealing to her head what it had known since the minute Lindsay had met Bobby.

She took her time getting home, stopping briefly to pick up a tub of triple-choc ice-cream, her cure- all for any situation. She opened her door and nearly broke down as the empty silence of her apartment enveloped her. The blinking light on her answering machine caught her eye. Somehow she knew the message would be from Bobby, and the humiliated part of her nearly pushed the 'erase' button. But the rational part of her told her she should at least give him a chance to explain himself. She went into her room, changed into trackpants and a Harvard sweat- shirt. She grabbed the ice-cream and a spoon, sat down on the sofa, and pushed play.
Bobby's deep sexy voice echoed off the vacant walls of her apartment. She continued to eat her ice-cream as his words penetrated her heart.
"Lindsay...it's Bobby. God...this is probably the first time -ever- I have been glad to speak to one of these machines. I can picture you right now...I am willing to bet you're sitting there, probably mad as Hell at me, eating a tub of that chocolate ice-cream you favour so much...."
Lindsay couldn't hide her smile upon hearing this comment. Her raising arm had stopped mid- air, the ice-cream balancing precariously on the edge of the tilted spoon. He knew her so well..sometimes it was scary. His message continued.
"...I don't know if this will make you feel better, but I could go for some of that ice-cream therapy right now. Listen...Lindsay- what I said- about what you mean to me, how I feel about you- that wasn't just some lame excuse...I really meant it. Honestly Lindsay...otherwise, I would have...I mean what man in his right mind wouldn't..you're s-so sweet and b-beautiful. Clearly though, I am not in my right mind. You, you just make me so...I guess crazy is the best word. It's just..well, I've often thought about how it would be if you and I were to...you know- and I guess I pictured it as romantic. I probably ruined any chance I ever had with you tonight, but I will *not* let you think you are just a
*thing* to me. Because you're not...you...Lindsay, you are so much more. Anyway, I'll pick you up at about 7:30pm on Monday. I'm sorry about...Well, I hope you understand. Goodnight, Lindsay."
The recorded beeps, signifying Bobby hanging up the phone, went un- noticed by Lindsay, who sat there smiling as tears rolled off her face and into the tub, giving her ice-cream a salty new flavour.

Monday, 7:30am Lindsay's apartment.
The knock at her door shook Lindsay from her thoughts. Bobby stood nervously outside. He hadn't stopped thinking about her all weekend, and now that he was about to come face to face with her, he had no idea what to say.
Lindsay opened the door, and upon seeing him, her heart made the great leap into her throat. He looked gorgeous, dark blue jeans and a white shirt, topped off nicely with a black leather jacket and appropriately tousled hair. "Hey." He said to her, the nervousness evident in his voice. She didn't reply, instead, Lindsay stepped forward. Placing one hand firmly behind his head, she pulled him to her, pressing his lips to hers. He responded, deepening the kiss, as he ran one hand through her hair. She pulled back, and before she could grab her bags, he grabbed her.
"Lindsay, what was that for?" He asked "Not that I don't appreciate it...but why?"
"Bobby.." Lindsay started, her eyes never leaving his. "You are the sweetest man, I can't begin to tell you how I feel, so I figured I would begin to show you instead."
"Begin?" Bobby asked suggestively
"Well that all depends Bobby." She said, playing along.
"On?"
"How smooth you are."
"Oh, I am *very* smooth." He assured her
"I'll bet."
He moved forward, this time tracing the outline of her lips with his finger before leaning in to kiss her again.

LATER THAT DAY- On the plane
Bobby and Lindsay were asleep, the arm rest which served to separate the seats had been pushed up. Lindsay had moved over and was resting her head on Bobby's chest. One of his arms was draped protectively over her shoulder, and the hand of the other arm was holding hers, their fingers entwined tightly. Even thought they were sleeping- on a plane no less- anyone who saw them could see how in love they were. Fortunately, certain anyone's (Ellenor and Lucy) didn't notice the pair, and they were unseen for the remainder if the journey.
Lindsay stirred as the wheels of the plane touched ground in L.A. She looked up to find a smiling Bobby staring down at her.
"Hello sleepyhead." Bobby said sweetly
"Hi, how long have you been awake?" Lindsay asked groggily
"A while."
"Why didn't you wake me?"
"Purely for selfish reasons. You're so quiet and beautiful when you sleep, I couldn't bring myself to wake you."
"Well, I think that was a compliment, so thank you." She replied, reaching up to kiss him lightly before laying her head back down waiting for the plane to stop so they could get off.

Bobby, Lindsay, Ellenor and Lucy stood at the reception desk of the Plaza Motel. The Concierge stood before them, smiling nervously.
"I'm so sorry Mr Donnell. Apparently instead of booking four single rooms, the receptionist has booked you two doubles. I am very sorry sir, she is new here. I am very happy to discount the cost of your stay." The Concierge offered apologetically
"And you're sure there are no other rooms left?" Bobby asked
"No sir, we are all booked out." The Concierge assured him.
"Can't imagine why" Lindsay snapped "Considering the excellent services you provide." the sarcasm dripped heavily from her voice.
"Look.." the Concierge began desperately "Both rooms have a private balcony, and one of them has a Jacuzzi."
"I'm having that room." Ellenor and Lucy stated in unison.
"Alright" sighed Bobby, remorsefully taking the keys. "Well at least sleeping arrangements are decided. Ellenor, you'll share with Lucy, and Lindsay you can sleep with me."
Lindsay's face went bright red, Lucy and Ellenor keeled over with laughter. Bobby tried to redeem himself "I mean stay with me...no..I mean, I-I'll be sleeping on the couch." He looked so cute when he was embarrassed, Lindsay couldn't help but smile despite her own embarrassment.
"I know what you mean Bobby." She said, her eyes revealing that she knew *exactly* what he had meant.
It was such a busy day, going in for summary judgements, preliminary cause hearings, motions to suppress, plus trying to locate and collect information of all of the prosecutorial witnesses, and attempting to find witnesses of their own. By the time they reached the motel, they were so worn- out, all they could think about was crawling into bed and sleeping. Well two of them had planned on going to bed and taking up other recreational activities, but even they planned to sleep...eventually.
Ellenor and Lucy's room was four floors before Bobby and Lindsay's, so they said goodnight to each other in the elevator. As they got off, Bobby and Lindsay - who were on opposite sides of the elevator- were joined by two young men, probably in their late twenties, good looking and dresses very stylishly.
One of them winked at Lindsay, nodding at her approvingly. "Hey beautiful, names Peter, what is your name?" He extended his handed.
She held hers out "Lindsay" she replied, blushing slightly as Peter bent down and kissed her hand. "Me and my friend Jeromy here, are throwing a little party tonight, and you are more than welcome to bring your gorgeous self up if you'd like."
Lindsay looked over at Bobby, who was staring nonchalantly at the wall. "I can't tonight, sorry Peter, thanks for asking though." She smiled politely at him, wondering why the Hell Bobby hadn't said or done something to help her out.
"Why Baby, is there someone else? Cause if there is, I guarantee, I am better than He'll ever be, you will like me much more."
Lindsay glanced hopefully at Bobby, but he just continued to stare unhelpfully at the wall. Lindsay was so angry now. "No, Peter," she said slowly, spitting out each word as though it was poisonous. "There is nobody else, I just have to start work early tomorrow, that's all."
"Suit yourself doll, room 513 if you change your mind."
______________________________________________________________________
"Geez, Lindsay." Bobby snarled as she closed the door of their motel room behind them. "Why didn't you just invite him up!?"
"Excuse me?" She asked, blatantly shocked.
"You know perfectly well what I am talking about. What, were you tying to make me jealous Lindsay?"
"What the Hell are you talking about?" She was way beyond angry now. "How dare you. If you had a problem, why didn't you say something, help me out a little, I think I was pretty obviously uncomfortable."
"You told him there was no-one else Lindsay. Is that true?" He asked, conveying his hurt through his eyes.
"I don't know Bobby." She said honestly. "I cant keep up with you running hot and cold like this..."
"Me!" He cut in. "God,...it doesn't matter how much I love you does it. I just cant win with you Lindsay."
Lindsay's fury forced her to ignore his declaration of love. "It was never about winning Bobby!"
"Well it certainly seems that way, and I sure seem to have lost." He said defeatedly.
"Yeah, well you're right about that one Donnell. I'm going for a walk." And with that she left, slamming the door behind her, leaving a tearful Bobby to drown in her wake.
Lindsay sat on a park bench, not 50 metres from the motel. The warm L.A air was a welcome change from chilly Boston. A few silent tears fell from her eyes, landing on the pavement below her, as she leant forward, elbows on knees, head in hands. He had said he loved her, why then, was he being so childish and selfish. She conceded that it was just the way he was, always over- protective in his own subtle way, and endlessly jealous. The jealousy thing was perhaps a little less subtle. Either way, she knew she could forgive him, and she knew she would always love everything about him.
Moments later, the crying stopped, her tears turning into a brilliant smile as the love she felt for Bobby took her over. She stood up, and walked back to the motel, smiling decidedly. Opening the door, Lindsay's smile grew as she saw his familiar figure, lying in the bed, clutching her mauve jumper to his chest. She changed into a satin blue nightdress and climbed into bed beside him. Silently she crept over, until she was holding herself over him.
He slowly woke up, and upon seeing her, he smiled. "Lindsay" He whispered, for the sole purpose of ensuring this was not in-fact a dream. She dropped down slowly, and kissed him, not giving him time to be confused. He responded by wrapping his arms around her, pulling her as close to him as his body would allow. One hand was placed firmly on her lower back, while the other moved slowly up and down the satin nightdress.
"Must have been some party." Bobby joked, hoping desperately that that wasn't where she had been.
"Bobby...." Lindsay started, but he cut her off.
"No Lindsay. You don't need to explain, I probably deserve to have you go there. I acted so stupidly, I guess I was just jealous."
"Bobby, I didn't go to the party."
"You didn't?"
"No, I went and sat outside and cried." She admitted.
"Well, you're certainly not crying now." He laughed playfully.
Lindsay dropped her voice to a seductive whisper "No, I'm not. But if all goes well, I should be crying out soon." This little teaser hit Bobby in all the right places.
"You know Lindsay..." he said as he slowly removed her nightdress. "...I meant what I said..about loving you...and losing you."
"Bobby, you haven't lost, you still have a whole innings to play."
"Do you think I'll get to third base?"
"I think you'll hit a home run Bobby."
"Linds...I love you."
"I love you too Bobby."
They kissed again, each kiss reaching a new level, invoking new feelings and deeper meanings. Finally they couldn't stand it any more, the years of unexplored feelings and pent- up passion exploded, bringing new life to two people who had finally found everything they needed.
End
