Machine harvesting of grapes is commonly done at night when it is cooler and the grapes are firmer. Above is the front of the machine harvester. The man driving it sits over 15 feet up in the air. The machine straddles one row. Grapes go up the conveyor belt and are moved to the left and dumped in a trailer which is pulled in the next row over.
The back view shows the grapes traveling up the belt. The man sitting down low picks out any big branches. To the left you can see the leaves and stuff being blown out (it's a very dusty process for anyone involved). You can't see it but another man sits like this on the other side of the row. Grapes harvested this way will find their way into juice concentrate or be used in other food products.
