June 2004
By the way - some of the little yellow dates in the corners of the pics are wrong
Baby chicks for sale at the Monday bazaar in Pehcevo May 30th - the seller was quite surprised that I wanted to photograph them and he kept fluffing them up, trying to make a sale
Rostushe mosque; unlike most of Macedonia, which is predominently Orthodox Christian, Rostushe is a Muslim village
After traveling about 6 hours by van, I was dropped off at this bridge 2 kilometres down the hill from Rostushe, where I went to visit another PCV for the weekend of June 4th - 6th
Left: Rostushe's old hospital; no longer in use
Above: A view from the top (finally!) of the steep hill that leads up to the mountain village
Nikola washes his car in Berovo June 10th
Nikola's sister Tanja washes cups to make us coffee
Tanja's nephews Aleksandar and Jordan inside the taxi service/rug cleaning/carwash run by Tanja and her husband
Nikola and I chill out for a second - I had a "busy day" buying things to get ready for my mom's visit, which is coming up soon!
