My Spirit Of Woodlan Site!
My four high school years were dedicated completely to marching band. I was at marching band all the time, and when I wasn't I was practicing, or leading sectionals.  I feel that marching band completely changed who I am today and helped to shape me into the person that I am today.  In marching band I learned many different things besides the obvious. I learned to be a leader. . . and when to be a follower, and that there was a time for each.  I learned what really makes somebody a true friend, and what a true hero really is.  I learned what it feels like to work together to achieve a common goal . . . and what it feels like when you do.  I know know the hurt of loss, and the realization of the past. I truely believe that everything happens for a reason, and what hurts us, makes us stronger.  I am glad that I was in marching band and I am thankful for the memories that I can take away from it .
This was band director, Terry Fisher. Of all the teachers that I have ever had, its from him that I have learned the most.  He treated us like real people and not just like the students we were.  He taught us about working together, and that you do not get anything without lots of work.

M is for the memories and the meaning of this poem.

A is for always, because I'll keep them all life long.

R is for the reaching that we do to touch the stars.

C is for the clarinets and the customs that are ours.

H is for the hearts that we reach out and touch each day.

I is a letter we do not use, when working the team way.

N is for the new ideas that made the work more fun.

G is for the good times that we had when that was done.

B is for the buddies that turn into lifelong friends.

A is for all the times they've been there till then end.

N is never ending, the spirit will go on.

D is for the dreams that dance when we finish our song.
