Lisa Schaeffer Loves Joshua Gustin
You always hear people talking about how there is one person out there that is meant for you, and that you will just find each other by fate, but you never really believe that can really happen to you. That is how I felt, until a couple of years ago.  I had dated several people before, but none of them seemed to click.  We all have stereotypes in our heads of what our perfect match would be, and of course I had mine.  I was also pretty certain that I was never going to find him.
I have worked at Encore Music Company since my Freshman year of high school.  During my sophmore year, my boss hired serveral new people, including Joshua Gustin. A year went by, and Josh did not even know I existed. We were completly opposite people, from completely different worlds. Then, mutual friend of ours began to try to set us up.  It was embarrassing really, how he found out that I liked him, but it is a cute story in itself.  We began to talk a little more, but did not date until a month or two later, when I asked him to go to Cedar Point with me.  I have a rather annoying knee problem, and that evening my knee went out on me right as we were getting ready to leave.  Josh put his arm around me and helped me all the way out to the parking lot.  Then when we were all situated in the van, the arm stayed there.  About an hour into the ride, we were holding hands.  I think that phrase that best describes our relationship is somehing that I said shortly after that "I don't know how this happened, but I am sure glad that it did".
About a month after that, he asked me out.  It was so much fun getting to know Josh better.  When we went out, we never really did anything besides walk and talk, but it was so much fun.  Ok, back to how Josh and I were from two seperate worlds.  I didn't grow up in a church, and Josh was more than very involved in his church.  At first this was something that I didn't understand, but was glad to find more out about.  Josh began to share many things with me, that encouraged me to make some of the most important decisions in my life.  The best night of my life, was the night that I decided to be baptized. It was really something that I had been looking for, for a really long time, but could never seem to see the right path to before. It is so great to be on that path now, and I would not trade it for anything. Every day I am still learning what it means to be on the this path, and every day, I like it more and more.  It is also very special to me that Josh is the one that shared all of this with me. Josh has the sweetest family, and their support and encouragement has been much appreciated.
Josh and I have been dating for over two years now.  It has been the best two years of my life, and I would not change it for anything.  This past summer I have had so much fun doing things with him, including trips to St. Louis, Florida, and South Carolina.  Thank you for everything Josh!!
This is Josh's new car. It is a red 1999 Grand Prix.  It is awesome.  It has leather seats and a moon roof.  The first time that he picked me up in it, was when he took me out for my birthday. :)
This is Josh and me right before my senior prom, 2001.
