Siqueiros is often considered the "theoretician of the movement" because he would put his theories before his art, which Rivera did not always do. He referred to his work as being "nuevo realismo" (new realism). He also could be accused of being egotistical. Siqueiros's remark that "No hay m�s ruta que la nuestra" (ours is the only way) infuriated many artists. Nevertheless, his beliefs and art did influence and motivate many Mexicans.
