My lovely Nick....
For those of you unfortunate enough to have not yet met the lovey little fellow.... that small furry excited looking thing on Nick's bag is Fatcat.
This was after our 6km walk up Vesuvius .. a pleasant 2 hour walk, so the guide book said. We realised, however, that it was to be a further 9km and 3 or so hours to the top.. after reaching the first Tourist Information Office. The woman behind the counter looked truley horrified when she realised we were keen to walk it and whipped out a map for us to see how very far down the mountain we really were... could only call for one thing. A minute later Nick hailed a car over and a lovely Italian couple drove us all the way up to the top. Thank god.. notice Nick's big cheesey grin :o)
Our last night in Rome and we got a bit giggly over a buffet in our hostel room...
January 2003 We went for a lovely winter walk up to Coombe Hill on the way to Aylesbury.. a notoriously steep hill which gives you (as a reward for clambering to the top) a panoramic view of the home counties.. we knew it would be difficult.. probably muddy... so on a frosty day, when they ground was frozen .. we opted for wellies.. a lesson was most definately learned as we began our slow, slippery decent.
Nick once told me of a horrible tree he'd found out, deep in the woods one day whilst on an evening jog... it was a tree, he said, covered in scary-looking toys!. dolls with no eyes and with grimaces on their faces. He said it must be a tree of witchcraft... a horrible sight. He ran as fast as he could o get away from it.. back onto the main path home. We returned one day to that tree... Nick.. that's quite obviously a little tigger doll and a lepracharn. Ive seen scarier things whilst babysitting :o) x
Our snow clown... Saturday morning fun!
