You can't really compare Fall in New Mexico to Fall on the east coast -- you have to look far and go wide to see bits of color.  There aren't many deciduous trees in New Mexico and the few that are here turn yellow (Aspen, Cottonwood, Scrub Oak).  Cheryl, Anne Marie, and I took a trip to the Jemez Mountains to catch glimpses of the red hues of Maple trees.
Aspens (yellow) in the Sandia Mountains
Maple trees in the 4th of July Canyon in the Jemez Mountains.  The 4th of July Canyon is one of the few places in New Mexico that has Maple trees (trees that turn shades of red).
