| Albuquerque |
| Albuquerque is located in central New Mexico at the foot of the Sandia Mountains. The Rio Grande winds through Albuquerque, beginning in Colorado and continuing down to the Texas/Mexico border. Albuquerque was built and named for the viceroy Francisco Fernandez de la Cueva Enriquez, the Duke of Albuquerque. Today the population of Albuquerque is approximately 384,600. Like many cities in America today, Albuquerque is rapidly expanding. However, Albuquerque is bound to the east by the Sandia Mountains, to the south by the Isleta Indian Reservation, and to the north by the Sandia Reservation; therefore expansion of the city can only go west. I live near the busiest intersection in the state, which really isn't all that busy by east coast standards. New Mexicans do seem to find it complex though, and frequently drive their cars into one another at this intersection. I live just across the street from where I work. I love it! No traffic, less money spent on gas, a discount on insurance. Check out the photos taken around Albuquerque! And remember, I'll be adding more so stop back. |
