| Hydrogen has two isotopes besides its normal state of 1 proton and 1 electron. Hydorgen's isotopes, unlike any others have their own names. The first isotope, regular hydrogen, is called protium. The second isotope is called Deuterium, it consists of 1 proton and 1 neutron. | Hydrogen was what filled the Genman airship the Hindenburg, it let the ship become famous for it's speed and for flying across the ocean . Hydrogen, highly flamable in is gaseous state (it can burn when it makes up between 4 and 74 percent of the air) is also what let the hindenburg go down in history, literally. On May 3, 1937 while it was trying to land the hindenburg bust into flams. Fueled by the hydorgen gas the hindenburg turned into a massive fire ball. The ship fell 200 feet to the ground, and out of the ninety-seven peole aboard only twelve passengers and thrity-seven crew lived through the experience, just under half died. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| People are looking at two main uses for hydrogen in the future and they both involve hydrogen as a feul for all of our needs. Because hydrogen has the highest energy content per unit weight of any known feul it is natural that people would be looking for ways to use it\ convert it to energy. Right now hydrogen is not easily made and conversions to hydrogen feuled equipment are expensive. But people hope that one day it will be widely used. Hydrogen burns easily and the only left overs are heat and water, no nasty side effects. People see it as a pollution free way to do and gain the things we need while at the same time working towards getting rid of carbon dioxide and other green house gases. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
