I went to an Appaloosa show this past weekend. I was a good boy I was!

Saturday was the open show. I got 1st in Halter Geldings 4 & over and Reserve Champion Gelding. Then it rained & we had to show inside. I've never ridden in an indoor arena before. I was a little worried but still managed to place 5th in English Pleasure (out of 7). I did better in the other classes 'cause I was more settled in. I placed 2nd Maiden Pleasure (7) and Jr. Pleasure Horse (7), Momma rode me English in those. She was very happy with me. Then I placed 2nd in Western Pleasure (out of 7 or 9). Then she took me in a strange class called Barrel Racing. That was kind of fun! I think I was supposed to go fast but Momma didn't ask me to.

Sunday we showed outside. There were 2 judges in the ring 'cause it was a breed show. I placed 2nd in Halter Geldings 4 & over (out of 2) under both judges. I was faster and stronger than momma wanted me to be in Jr. Horse Hunter Under Saddle but I placed 4th out of 8 under both judges. Then we placed 1st & 2nd in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle (outof 3). I was a much better boy in that class.

I didn't do real good in Jr. Horse Trail. I was skeered. I did the mail box & gate good, trotted through the old devil's dike. Then I spooked at the ring crew and the brightly striped ground poles. Then I was skeered to lope up over the hill covered in bushes & trees, I stopped then I trotted fast as I cood. I side passed really really good. I didn't do the back thru good 'cause I was sure I was sposed to side pass that. Then I got all silly and walked all over those poles and moved um around.

Momma rode the heck out of me to slow me down for Western Pleasure 'cause my jog was too fast. I placed 4th & 5th in Jr. Horse Western Pleasure (out of 8). I was a little fast at times and had to pass other horses. I took a wrong lead for a few strides, oops. Then we placed 2nd & 1st in Amateur Western Pleasure (out of 3). I did much better in that class, I was slower. Momma let me lope on a loose rein! That was really nice, she just let me lope and didn't bother me as long as I stayed the same speed and kept my head down. Hmm, is that what I'm supposed to do? We also got Reserve Champion Amateur.

I was sooooooooo tired! and happy to get back home to see momma Jessie & Shy, they were happy to see me too. 1st thing I did was roll in the mud & get my clean self all dirty! I'd been wanting to do that all weekend.

I think I heard Momma say something about another show next weekend. Please, someone save me from the torture! I don't want another bath & I'm NOT getting on that trailer again!
