Okay, this is me. Nice, eh? I rarely ever like having my picture taken. I don't even think I was much of a good mood at the time, but well, lets just say I hide it well : ) Well, I'm currently a freshman at Texas A&M International University. I recently graduated from J. B. Alexander High School this spring. My favorite bands are 311, Incubus, & Weezer. Other bands I enjoy are Phantom Planet, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, and Cake.
As you can see, I'm a big fan of Texas A&M. I've decided to start off college in Laredo and participate in a special Engineering Transfer Program between TAMIU and Texas A&M in College Station. My major is currently Mechanical Engineering. I chose Engineering based on the fact that I love mathematics and physical sciences. I've taken quite a few AP tests: Calculus, Physics, Government, and Economics. The only scores I have recieved as of now are the Calculus scores, in which I scored a 4.
Well.. A major part of high school was spent in extra-curricular activities. I was in band all four years of high school. I've been interested in music since I can remember.. starting out on piano. I still play a lot, mainly when I'm under a lot of stress. Playing the piano is a great way to relax. In band, I played percussion. I started out playing the flute in 6th grade, and by 7th grade I was forced to drop out of band for cheerleading. After missing out on a whole year, my freshman year I decided to join the marching band just for fun. Since I was on the dance team, I wasn't allowed to march on the field.. So instead I joined the front ensemble and stayed there for two years. My junior year, I was moved to the drumline to play first bass, and my senior year I served as percussion section leader, marching on snare. I also love playing marimba. This picture was my Junior-year Band photo.
The All-Region Concert this year was so much fun. I met so many interesting people on that trip, and that really made the weekend memorable. So.. Do you think you know a lot about me yet? Well, there are a lot of things I like to do in my spare time. More often than not, I'm here.. in front of the computer. I'm usually either talking to friends, working on my page, or doing homework. Don't get me wrong; I like being outdoors. The only thing is that I live in a very hot place of Texas, where the extreme temperatures keep me from spending much time outside. When it's cool, I enjoy running, swimming, bike-riding, and rollerblading.
Lets see.. I like a lot of different things. I like sci-fi & action movies, as well as other deep thought-provoking movies. I admire so many actors for their talent, such as Ben Affleck, Nicholas Cage, Matthew Perry, Bruce Willis, Sandra Bullock, and Meg Ryan to name a few.. I like cats. I have a cat named Jnco. I love cars and driving around in them. I like going to bed late and sleeping in, although some days I'm more of the opposite. I love eating sweets and Sonic desserts. I really dislike bad drivers, and living in a border town (with Mexico), there are PLENTY. I hate forwards and spam mail. By the way, this picture was taken at the Dazzler Presentation in March 1999. My escort (the guy on my right) was Tosh.. My boyfriend at the time. He moved a week or so after that night, to Virginia. That was about 3 years ago, and we're still really good friends. I have a picture of him up in my Friends Page. ..Yeah, I'm not in Dazzlers anymore. I decided it wasn't for me. Although I absolutely love dancing, I can't stand the lifestyle. I was never the popular type, and constantly being around those types of people made me frustrated because they never accepted me.
Well, that's about it for now. If you want to know more about me, just let me know.. If you have read all of this, you're either really bored or really want to know more about me : ) So whichever the case, thanks for sticking around. Check out the rest of my site, too.

Anyways.. This is a picture of me from my sophomore year. I was the section leader of the front ensemble (pit percussion) that year. That was a difficult year for me because my sister had moved to College Station to study at Texas A&M University. We were really close; without her, I felt very empty. I soon adjusted to her being gone through new friendships. I made some of the best friends I've ever had that year; Prissy especially. Also Johnny, Susie, Wicho.. Although I didn't hang out with them then as much as I do now, they've always been awesome guys. I've grown so much since then; I find myself facing more difficult situations than before, and having to really push myself to become the person I want to be.

This is my favorite baby picture of me. Aren't I cute? :) I was never a very talkative person when I was small. As a matter of fact, I was extremely shy. I hardly opened up to anyone, really, until my sophomore year. I had great friends, like Priscilla, who always had a rational outlook on things. I am so greatful to have had her friendship throughout high school. I miss her a lot since she graduated in 2001, but I remember all the advice she used to give me and continue to live by her amazing example.

Here's me and my sis. I know what you're thinking.. No, neither of us are adopted, and we're not half/stepsisters. We're just sisters, even though we hardly look alike. We have so much in common, but we have our distinctions that define us and make us individuals. This semester she's back home taking classes at TAMIU, and it's SO nice to have her back. She plays flute in the award-winning TAMIU Mariachi. She also plays a lot of guitar. We've always dreamed about starting our own band: Her being on guitar and me on drum set. If anyone knows a good bass player out there, let us know! This picture was taken at the band banquet '99.

Yup.. Here's my car : ) Isn't it awesome? It's a 2001 Toyota Celica GT. I got it the 2nd of January, 2002. It's sooooo fun to drive. I have always admired these cars, and am so stoked that I finally have one! My parents were so generous to get me what I wanted. I had driven my parents' '93 Suburban for a whole year before they got me this one, so I guess you could say it humbled me, somewhat. I gave up many things to get what I wanted, so I truly appreciate that I am able to own it, finally! : )

Here's my kitty! She's so adorable. We got her from a shelter in June 2000. She's already a year and a half old, but we still treat her like a little kitty : ) Her name, like I said previously, started out as Jnco. My sister and I couldn't think up a name for her at first, so we just got creative. She kinda outgrew that name after a while, so now we just call her Cat : ) She is the most adorable thing.. She really cheers me up when I'm down, and I'm so happy to have her as a pet.

These are my Sophomore-year Band photos. Ever since that year, I have become a hardcore Marimba player. I absolutely love the marimba. That year, my sophomore year, I took a four-mallet vibes solo, "Waltz King," to State Solo & Ensemble and received a 2nd division. Last year, I began working on more difficult literature such as Johnny's solo, "Rhythm Song," among others. I took Gordon Stout's "Two Mexican Dances - 2nd Movement" to State Solo & Ensemble and received a 2nd division as well. This year, being my last year, I decided to continue on with Gordon Stout's "Two Mexican Dances," but instead working on the 1st movement. My sophomore year, I was able to make the All-District Band for percussion. The year after, I advanced to All-Area, and this year advancing to All-Region. I am very honored to have the privilege to work with such talented musicians in the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as participate in the Laredo Wind Ensemble. I owe many thanks to Mr. Castro for really believing in me and offering me those wonderful opportunities.
