All is over, Helen my beloved child is dead, and the rest of my life is dreary. All my children are good and loving, but those that are gone have left a vacancy that can never be filled. Mrs W. Lawrason has been here for two days and she Amelia and Ann laid Helen out in her last robe of white. Mr. Portman wrote to Mr. Becher and said that political differences should be forgotten and asked him to come in which he did and they made friends but at the time we did not know that he had refused to come in when he was told that Helen was dieing.
