Throughout her life, Amelia was known to interpret her own dreams, and as she grew older she became more and more preoccupied with death. She felt her dreams had been connected to the deaths of her husband, son, and daughter and she found them depressing. Her predictions were not always correct, but she was aware of the passage of time and her own mortality.
