When did Cancerdöd start?
Sometime in the late winter 2004, I guess.
Something like that.

What all releases have you made? Any plans for a full length anytime soon? Any plans for a split?
Soon after the band started, I released a demo called "Det er altid bedst, når de er døde" (It's always better when they're dead). It's not limited, when someone asks for a copy, I make them one.

I'd like to make a full length with some of the old material and some new, but I've been quite busy lately. With 2 other bands and school and all..

Concerning the split, I've talked with one dude some time ago (you) about making a split. I'm always up for making splits with others who are interested.

What's in store for Cancerdöd in the future?
More releases, that's for sure. When I get some more time on my hands, I'd really like to get Cancerdöd going again.

It's been kinda dull lately, but I'm inspired and I've got a shitload of titles and riffs for new tracks just waiting to be done.
I'm just a lazy bastard, that's all.

Any plans on new members, or will it stay a one man project?
I think it'll stay a one man project, it's much easier that way, cause most musicians are assholes.

Though I've been talking with some people about guest appearances on some of the new tracks.

What are your inspirations for the music? What bands have made what Cancerdöd is today?
My source of inspiration is like a big mosaic of different bands from different genres. Mostly metal though. Everything from Slayer to Anal Cunt. (There's a Slayer cover on the "Det er altid bedst, når de er døde" demo).

It's hard to say what bands have made it what it is today.

How would you describe the music? Black Metal? A mixture of Black Metal and Black Noise?
Yeah, pretty much something like that. Though I think there will be more variety in the coming releases.

Not too much, though. I like the how the way Cancerdöd sounds now , so I won't change it alot.

What all instruments are used to make the music? What programs do you use to record?
The only real instrument I'm using right now is an electric guitar. A BC Rich (Bich - Pro) and I'm playin' on a Marshall Valvestate S80 combo amp.

For the drums I'm using this cheesy Dutch drumprograming software, which I downloaded somewhere on the internet some time ago. It's freeware, so it's all good. For the vocals I use this cheesy mic I've borrowed from a friend

I use Cubase SX to record.

What does "Cancerdöd" translate to in English? What made you decide to choose that name?
Cancerdöd means something along the lines of Cancer death. Or death by cancer.

Well, I chose it because cancer really is becoming a hot-topic. It has been so for a while. I think it's because most people are to goddamn stupid to realize that there's not a flying fuck to do about cancer.

It's like, people get all touchy when you mention it (maybe because they're pussies, I don't know.) but I'd like to show, with that bandname, that:
1) I don't give a rat's ass about cancer. Either you get it or not. If you get it; bad luck. Deal with it.
2) This band is dealing with subjects that most likely will offend the majority. I like a bandname that shows what the band stands for and is all about.

You also have another project, Sickness and Disease. Will the two projects ever do a split?
I really don't know about that. Maybe, maybe not. Sickness and Disease is a duo act with one of my friends. So it's up to him too. I'll keep you updated on this.

Whats the Black Metal scene like in Denmark? Any bands we should keep an eye out for?
Oh yeah, I think we have alot of good Black Metal here.

Just to mention a few; the top of the iceberg so to say:
Sadogoat
Nidhug
Livjatan
Angantyr
Ad Noctum

Also check out

What are some albums that you have been playing a lot lately?
Death - Scream Bloody Gore, Deströyer 666 - Phoenix Rising, Cannibal Corpse - Eaten Back To Life and Motörhead - Ace Of Spades are the first that pop into mind.

That's all I've got. Any last comments?

No.

Alright, thanks for the interview.
No problem, man, anytime.
Cancerdöd is a black/noise project of a friend of mine from Denmark, and he was nice enough to let me do this interview. We have even discussed doing a split together, but that is on a bit of hiatus at the moment.
