On another visit to this off-shore island of Singapore, a friend and I came across this scene at the front door or a little apartment. Although the dog was the first thing that commanded my attention, I was later struck by the combination of colors of the door and the door mat. Together with the nearby wooden stool and the slippers on top of it, it seemed to form a composition that was well-balanced and attractive.
As I was using a prime lens, I had to change my vantage point in order to get the framing I wanted. To compensate for the white wall I dialled in positive exposure compensation.
