On the last day of our short stay at the motel in Marysville, I had some time to tour the premises while the bill was being settled. It was drizzling at that time. There were some rustic items for sale and this little bird house really caught my eye.
I used a longer focal length, a wide aperture and moved in close to limit the depth of field while carefully positioning myself in order to obtain a background that was simple and some distance away from the bird house.
A slower shutter speed was used to allow the rain drops to record as very subtle streaks across the scene.
