The small plant in our backyard produced an amazing amount of chilli,
more than our family could possibly finish. While they were being
sorted and packed into boxes for friends, I found the combination of
green and red irresistible and felt compelled to photograph them.
I chopped one chilli in half to reveal the seeds and placed it on top
of a number of other fine specimens next to a window. The late
afternoon window light provided all the light I needed for this image.
But because many areas of the setup were thrown into deep shadow I
utilized a plain white styrofoam board to the right of my camera to
reflect some light back into the scene.
