Lots of people were gathered in a hall prior to the wedding dinner. Here they drank, snacked on finger food and caught up with old friends and relatives. Lighting was dim but the spotlights occasionally highlighted a face against the dark background.
I dialed in negative exposure compensation to photograph a relative and the effect was quite startling, turning a merry wedding reception scene into one suggesting mystery and hush. It is only his smile that gives it all away.
