Brighton's Boxes

Over 80 of these brightly-colored bathing boxes line the Dendy Street
Beach in Brighton. They are some of the most photographed iconic
attractions in the area.
To prevent the sky from turning completely white in this image, I used
a neutral density graduate, hand-held diagonally in front of the lens.
This has led to an unnatural vignetting effect at the top right-hand
corner of the image, but I think it echoes the darkened corner at the
bottom right, creating symmetry in the image. This symmetry in turn
meshes well with the pattern formed by the line of bathing boxes.
