July 2003
Today Sara and I are using the computer lab at HCJB/the school.
They have somewhat nice computers: they seem to be Intel PIII/866's
with AOpen motherboards, with 256MB RAM. Which makes more sense than
those at my university: those had P4's with 128MB RAM, and really
having 256RAM is better than having a P4... at least for the sort of
purposes that people use computer lab computers for. I still rather wish that I could use my nice AthlonXP home computer, with my nice games, though...

We visited the market in Otavalo and I bought a nice grey cloak-a warm, practical Alpaca wool one that will (hopefully) actually keep me warm in NH winters. I also bought a wool poncho. But I think that I prefer the feel and appearance of the cloak.
Ok, I've been trying to download a nice old DOS game called Tyrian.
Besides that we have been eating Empanadas and occasionally playing
music (Sara on Violin and me on Clarinet) and hopefully someone has a
nice saxophone that I can borrow; I brought my nice selmer mouthpiece,
the sort that comes with a professional sax, and my ligature and
reeds. I heard that my clarinet music books should arrive in Ecuador, so I look forward to playing more atonal postmodern pieces (not really).
I usually don't type messages like this but since Sara is updating
her webpage and I haven't updated mine in a year or so, I decided to
utilize my time in this manner. Maybe I'll begin a new web page....

I've written some new poems that I might should add as well...
I also enjoy playing with the dog Ace (named after the Seventh Doctor's main companion), which often involves picking her up and throwing her around, or various other quite invigorating actions.
