Gil-Galad

I've noticed that the elven figures tended to focus more on their warrior side. I wanted to convey the majesty of the elves with Gil-Galad.

The base figure is Elrond. The chest was rebuilt and had additional rings of armour. The neck was repositioned to correct the posture and create a more regal bearing. The neck accesory was sculpted and has raised details. The hair ends are from Elrond, and the crown was 'woven' using paper.

I don't like cloth accesories. They neither fall nor fold properly at 6" scale so I experimented with rubber sheets in place of cloth. I think it works quite well at simulating fabric.

It doesn't show in the images but the armour was painted with a wash of green just like the actual thing. The spear and shield was sculpted using a combination of materials.
