X2 Deathstryke
Deathstryke is an original sculpt with custom-made articulation. It is a 6" scale "superposeable" figure intended to fit into the X2 movie figure line, and has 26 points of articulation. It is made by sculpting in clay, casting the sculpt, then cutting up the cast for the insertion of joints.
As with previous works, this is meant to be as faithful as possible to the source material (down to the number of rivets in her pants). It's not visible in the images, but three types of black paint were used for the figure: matte black for the pleated corset, semi-gloss for the pants, and gloss black for the boots and the stripes running across the shoulders and the sleeves.
Perhaps one of the most interesting aspect of this sculpt is finding the solution for the problem of the ponytail getting in the way of the head movement. After considering the problem a bit, I found the answer: ball-jointed ponytail. Simple and elegant--I love it. Now her head can be posed any which way, plus you get wind-swept hair for those action poses.
