Old Bruce Wayne
This custom marks my first time at modifying an existing animated-style figure (though not my first time sculpting in the Timm style). Bruce Wayne had been sculpted for some time but time constraints prevented me from adding the final paint details for several months.
The base figure is Bruce Wayne from the Return of the Joker line. I had planned to fully sculpt the figure, but then found Wayne on clearance. The posture of the character was critical--I cut away the top of the shoulders at an incline. The old head was removed and I sculpted a new one. I filed down the torso and legs until what's left is a skeletal frame and joints. I then rebuilt both using epoxy putty, keeping in mind that the torso should be rendered in a stooping position.
I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. I especially like the head sculpt. After all, the character's design is one of the things that made me want to do the custom in the first place.
