Would you give me a hand
even after you've lost an arm?
Would you still give me fruit
even after you've lost the farm?
Would you still hug and kiss me
even after I've lost my charm?
Palms together
Fingers skyward bound.
Dusting off un-answered prays
While their still around.
Would you still stand near
even if I wore a birthday suit?
Would you still tell me secret wisdom
even after you've long gone mute?
Would you still fly with me
even when I'm without a parachute?
Arms folded
Torso bowing down.
Cupping ear to rainbows
For their short time of sound.
Would you write me away in poem
even after you've lost all the ink?
Would drink me away as a sprit
even after I'm more than you think?
Would walk to the edge with me
or would you grab my hand and jump with me over the brink?
Would you have me as your boat
bailing out or will we both sink?
Thumbs circled
Elbows gently on thigh.
No matter how much you love
Someday you'll still saygood-bye.
