It is important for everyone to know that learning disabilities are common. Many people have them, you probably know at least 2 people who have one. Having a learning disability does not make someone stupid, or dumb, and it does not mean that they are not smart. Many people with learning disabilities have done amazing things in their lives. Having a learning disability may be a challenge, but it may offer great rewards. Next time you find out that someone you know has a learning disability, don't judge them. Be proud of them. People who have learning disabilities face ridicule and an enormous challenge when learning new things. They have great courage to keep trying, regardless of the challenge. No one chooses to have a learning disability, and the cause of them remains unknown. |
