| Types of diabetes
There are three differnent types of diabetes: Type 1 diabetes - this occurs when the pancreas stops producing insulin. Type 2 diabetes - the pancreas does produce insulin, just not enough. Either that, or the body does not use the insulin effectively. Gestational diabetes - this is a temporary condition that occurs during pregnancy. |

| Signs and symptoms:
Frequent urination Weight gain/loss Fatigue or lack of energy Unusual thirst Cuts and bruises that heal slowly Blurred vision Frequent or recurring infections Tingling or numbness in the hands or feet Trouble getting or maintaining an erection However, many people who have type 2 diabetes may not show any symptoms. |
