It had been many years since I last visited the zoo as a student. With the coming of photography as a hobby, I felt the urge to visit it again. It would allow me to photograph some of my favorite subjects.
In this instance I happened to be in the right place at the right time. I observed a young zebra resting on the ground, and when an adult walked over to it, I was almost guaranteed to see some form of interaction between the two animals. As the adult lowered its head, the lines and curves became more obvious and I fired the shutter.
In retrospect I could have used a smaller aperture for this photo for more depth of field, which would have allowed me to get more of the adult zebra's head in focus.
