Piccolo is the son of the devil, Piccolo Diamoa, his fisrt project 
in life was to destroy Goku as his father intended, though he failed. 
But then Raditz showed up and Goku and he made an alliance. After 
destroying Raditz, Piccolo began training his future best friend Gohan. 
His best moments are when he defeated Goku and destroyed the stadium 
in the 24th anual Tankaichi Boudakie, destroying Raditz, and the excellent 
fight against #20, plus the time when he fused with Kami. Probably the best 
feature of Piccolo is his attitude. Though he started out evil he became good 
finally when he fused with the gardian of earth. He has come near to death many
 times and only just pulled through like the time with Freiza and the time with Cell. 
We still don't know how he died.
