Disconnect all the wires, tubes, cables, brackets, driveshaft, shift linkage  holding the engine and tranny in place. The grille bumper, rad and shroud should be removed also for ease of removal. When removing the engine it helps if someone else is pushing the tranny down so that u can clear the front of the car, also removing a 18" section from the section just above of where the rad sits also helps. After the engine and tranny have been removed the next thing to do is to remove the engine mounts (frame side). I used an angle grinder and cut them out.
In this pic you can see what the section i removed to help manuvre the engine in and out. DONT CUT THE HOOD LINKAGE OR WIRING HARNESS FOR THE LIGHTS! the harness is right up against it so make sure you get it out of the way before you start cutting. if you do this right the latch will still be functionable and no need for hoodpins.
