It was Brenda's birthday today and we threw her a little party. We bought her a sweet potatoe cake and a gift certificate for cosmetics. She bought us all lunch. We put up some colored paper to make a "Happy Birthday" sign and blew up a couple of balloons.
We didn't invite our managers to our little event because we didn't want a huge event. They got VERY upset at the exclusion and yelled at each of the Korean teachers. They never yelled at me though. I pointed out that we were not invited to the manager's birthday party... and now we are more aware of the double standard that is the 'white elephant' of our school.
