In his lair, Scar and his hyenas plot to kill Mufasa and Simba.
In a gorge, Scar told Simba to wait on a rock for a surprise for him and his father.
The hyenas started a wildebeest stampede heade right toward Simba. Simba ran until he reached a dead tree. He climbed up, and hung on for his life.

Mufasa leaped into the gorge, picked up Simba, and put him up on a ledge. Mufasa jumped up near Scar.
"Brother, help me!" he called. Scar dug his claws in Mufasa's paw.
"Long live the king," Scar growled, and pushed Mufasa down the cliff.

"NO!!!!!!!!!" Simba screamed as the last wildebeests ran away. He ran into the gorge, calling for Mufasa, but a stray wildebeest was all who answered. As he watched it, something else caught his eye. It was Mufasa, and he was dead.
"Dad, you've got to get up, we've got to go home," Simba said, "Help!!!! Somebody! Anybody." He crawled next to Mufasa. Then Scar appeared.

"Simba, what have you done?" Scar 'asked'. Simba tried to explain, and Scar told him it was all his fault.
"Run away, Simba," He growled. "Run, run away and never return." Simba turned and ran. The 3 hyenas showed up behind Scar. Without looking back, Scar told them two words: Kill him.
The hyenas chased Simba, but he escaped by jumping into a thorn patch. Banzai tried going after him, but got stuck.
"If you ever come back we'll kill ya'!" he yelled after Simba.

Back at Pride Rock, Scar announces to the lionesses that Mufasa and Simba were dead, and that he was assuming the throne, along with all his hyena helpers.
Meanwhile, Simba was rescued by Timon, a meerkat, and
Pumbaa, a warthog. They taught him 'hakuna matata',
or 'no worries', and how to eat bugs. Simba grows up
living this way, but one night while the three were star
gazing, Simba said,
"Somebody once told me that the great kings of the past
are up there, watching over us." Timon and Pumbaa
laughed, so Simba lay down somewhere else, his breathing
blew some seeds away to Rafiki's tree. Rafiki sniffed them, and he knew that Simba
was alive an that Scar had lied.

Days later, as Timon and Pumbaa were out singing in the jungle, a young lioness attacked Pumbaa! He ran until he got caught under a large tree root. Just as the lioness pounced, Simba appeared, and started fighting to protect Pumbaa. Then, the lioness flipped him onto his back.
"Nala? Is it really you?" Simba asked.
"Who are you?" she asked back.
"It's me, Simba," Simba answered.
"Simba?"
Nala realized that it was Simba, and they started talking.

They wandered away from Timo and Pumbaa,
and Nala said,
"It's like you're back from the dead. You don't knows how much this will mean to everyone what it means to me. I've really missed you."
"I've missed you, too." Simba and Nala nuzzled, then went down to a small lake for a drink. Then they did other romantic stuff. When they both rolled down a hill, Simba pinned Nala at last. Then Nala put her head up and licked Simba on is 'cheek'...

Later, Nala told Simba about Scar's 'reign' in the Pride Lands, and thet Simba should go back to drive him out.
"I can't go back. You wouldn't understand."Simba muttered.
"What wouldn't I understand?" Nala asked back.
"It doesn't matter, Hakuna Matata." Simba went on and on. "You think you can just show up and tell me how to live my life! You don't even know what I'v been through."
"I would if you'd just tell me," Nala said.
"Forget it!"
"Fine!"
