Have a look at your penny and compare it with the design on the cover of the book The Origins of Freemasonry : Scotland's Century, 1590-1710 by David Stevenson. This design is the mason mark of Sir Robert Moray, a noted mason of the seventeenth century. In his notes, Sir Robert claims that the star is composed of the letters of the Greek word for health and notes that around the star he has placed the letters of the Greek word in the New Testament for love.
