PARADES AND PERFORMANCES
The Lion Rampant Accordion Band has participated in more than 400 parades over the course of our 26 years together. Many of the parades we do each year are annual events of cities within Ontario, and the United States.
Some of the annual parades we have participated in include:
- St. Patrick's Day, in Utica and Syracuse NY
- Warrior's Day at Toronto's CNE
- Fiddle Festival, in Shelbourne On
- Canada Day, in Cambridge and Brantford On
- Bread and Honey Festival, in Streetsville On
- Christmas Parades, in Kitchener, Elmira, Cambridge, and New Hamburg just to name a few.
We have also been in some prestigious parades including:
- Boxing Hall of Fame, Canastota New York in July 2003
- Walt Disney World, Florida in December 1992
- Orange Bowl, Florida in December 1992
- The Highland Games, in Fergus On
- Santa Claus Parade, in Toronto On
- Oktoberfest Parade, in Kitchener-Waterloo On
- Grey Cup Parades, in Toronto and Ottawa On
The Band has toured the East Coast of Canada four times. Each time we have visited there, we have travelled as one big happy family on a rented coach bus. This way of travel provides us with ample storage room for ourselves, equipment and luggage.
On these tours, some places we performed for were:
- Lobster Carnival Parade, in Summerside P.E.I
- Sea Festival Parade, in Yarmouth Nova Scotia
- United Empire Loyalist Days Parade, in St. John New Brunswick
- We went on 2 performing tours of Newfoundland in 1995 and 1997 as well.
