We also offer a fun, non-pressure environment and encourage family participation. We have many husband/wife and parent/children teams among our members. We have no age restriction (but must be able to march and carry a flag or instrument) and we have both male and female members. Most of our members are from Kitchener-Waterloo but we do have members that travel from Toronto, Brantford, Fergus and Hamilton. We are an Ontario non-profit corporation and any money raised/earned is used for Band expenses. The main focus of the Band is to participate in parades mainly in our surrounding Ontario area. We also parade in bordering USA states and on occasion travel for extended performing tours.
We offer opportunities to join our Colour party, or learn to play a button-keyed accordion, snare drum, tenor drum, bass drum, glockenspiels, or cymbals. Many of our new members begin in the colour party while learning an instrument or you may be already able to play one of the above instruments. Regular Band practice is on Sunday afternoons in Kitchener and we also offer the opportunity to buddy-up with a current Band member for additional help/instruction.
