Mikoyan-Gurevich Mig-21MF 'Fishbed-J'

Unusual exhibit at the Trenton, Ontario "R.C.A.F. Memorial Museum". According to the Aviation Enthusiast Corner the reason for it being there is as follows:

"the newest arrival, a MIG 21 tighter. After seeing active service with both the former Soviet and East German Air Forces, this aircraft was one of many which became surplus when East and West Germany reunited. It was donated by the German government to thank the RCAF for its many years of service in Germany, and to symbolize the end of the Cold War."

The attendant was busy, and so I forgot to ask the reason for a Mig being there, but I suppose the above reason sounds OK. It's East German markings are fading fast, I noted that few of their outdoor exhibits were having any protection from the elements, a shame, but I expect it is lack of money.
